We had the good fortune of connecting with Bobby Morelli and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Bobby, what was your thought process behind starting your own business?
My Thought Process behind Starting The Hot Dog Box was simply telling myself If I’m going to sell hot dogs, don’t be basic, don’t follow what everyone has done or is doing! I wanted to create an experience where the hot dog is front and center because it was the underdog of many restaurant menus.

Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
I’m not a chef by trade. However, I’m A Creative. I’m A Musician, A Songwriter, A Visual Artist & I’m A King! Leveraging my zone of genius as a creative has translated through my culinary lenses by way of hot dogs.

This has been a 12 year entrepreneurial journey some small wins and some great losses before The Hot Dog Box. My will and drive to succeed keeps me going.

I often compare creating my hot dog concepts/builds to me writing a song. “The Bun Is The Base, The Hot Dog Is The Subject Matter, The Sauce Is The Melody. The Toppings Are The Ad-Libs.” -Bobby Morelli

I want the world to know that there is lessons of success in the seasons of failure. I was able to learn from my failures and make the improvements with The Hot Dog Box. Our brand and our story is about celebrating the underdog. While understanding that the underdog must celebrate themselves whether others celebrate them or not.

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
I have to give a Shoutout to my wife Shy! Shy has seen and experienced this entrepreneurial journey with me! She’s witnessed the very hard days and the glory days! My wife has prayed for me and wiped tears away. She has seen me get knocked down and get back up. She has remained a pillar and fragrance in my life! She is one of my most important reasons to keep going!
