We had the good fortune of connecting with Brandon Milbradt and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Brandon, what was your thought process behind starting your own business?
When I started Eat Gold Organics, it was driven by a combination of passion and purpose.

My personal experiences with health and seeing others struggle motivated me to make functional foods not just effective but also enjoyable. I envisioned chocolate bars that could offer both comfort and empowerment, blending incredible flavors with the benefits of adaptogens and superfoods. This journey has been about democratizing wellness, sharing the transformative power of plants, and bringing a sense of joy and enchantment to everyday life—all while staying committed to sustainability and ethical practices.

I saw a gap in the wellness space—functional foods and plant-based solutions were gaining popularity, but they often felt inaccessible and alienating. As someone who loves chocolate and understands its powerful healing properties, I wanted to create something that fused indulgence with wellness in a way that felt magical and approachable.

Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
I see myself as a passionate storyteller and creator, thriving at the intersection of creativity and purpose. With my background in film and television, I’ve honed the art of crafting narratives that resonate deeply—whether that’s through a compelling scene or a bite of functional chocolate. As a founder, I’m dedicated to making wellness more accessible, joyful, and magical, knowing that even the smallest, intentional choices can lead to profound transformation.

Authenticity, sustainability, and innovation are core to who I am. Balancing the demands of single motherhood with my entrepreneurial journey has taught me resilience and resourcefulness. I’m driven by a love for forging connections—through flavors, stories, or experiences—and inspiring others to discover the magic woven into everyday life.

I love collaborating with inspiring creatives. Last year, I partnered with Tasya Van Ree, an incredible local artist, to create *The Untamed*, a truly unique functional chocolate bar to unleash the wild. Infused with adaptogens and adorned with real 24k gold, it’s a luxurious experience where you’re literally eating GOLD—both decadent and empowering.

I recently had the pleasure of collaborating with Ella Henry, the visionary behind *Glow with Ella*, to create a stunning and delicious chocolate bar called *Gut Glow*. It’s a perfect blend of indulgence and wellness, designed to support gut health while being as beautiful as it is nourishing. I can’t wait to launch this one next month, just in time for the new year.

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
This question is cracking me up because I am so deep in my work bubble that my brain can barely muster the creativity to dream up an ideal week. Honestly, my friends and I are at the point where just sitting still and being together feels like the ultimate luxury since we rarely get to hang in person. If I had to design the perfect week, it would include hiking in Topanga, enjoying nourishing vegan meals at Crossroads or Gracias Madre, and diving into LA’s underrated art scene. I love taking my kids to galleries whenever I can—most recently, we explored The Getty, and of course, stopped at Blick on the way home to stock up on art supplies. The combination of nature, art, and delicious food is my kind of perfection.

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
If I had to dedicate my shoutout, it would go to a blend of people and experiences that shaped my journey. First and foremost, my children—they are my daily inspiration and the driving force behind everything I do. Without them I don’t think I would have taken the risks that I did. I’d also credit the incredible network of mentors, collaborators, and friends who’ve supported me through every step, from the kitchen experiments to scaling my business. Being an entrepreneur can feel isolating, and the constant decision-making can be overwhelming. I’m beyond grateful for my best friend, Tiala Brown, who I talk to every single day without fail. Her company, Woven Gardens, is a testament to her creativity and vision, and her unwavering support has been a lifeline in my journey. Danielle Dubois of Sakara has profoundly influenced my perspective on business, showing me how to approach challenges with grace and intention. And Paul Ritter , my brilliant branding guru and creative director, brought my vision to life in ways I could never have imagined. These incredible people are not just part of my support system—they’re the foundation of everything I’ve built.

One book I particularly resonated with was The Rebel’s Apothecary by Jenny Sansouci. I highly recommend!
