We had the good fortune of connecting with Brandy Watson and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Brandy, we’d love to hear more about how you thought about starting your own business?
The thought process of Bare & Lush Co. Is to give other women of color the top tier service of a salon from someone that looks like them and knows how to treat their skin. Our skin (African American) has so many nuances and care that needs to be taken to become healthy again. I also want to show other Estheticians that they can become Elite and service multicultural clientele and make a living doing it.

What should our readers know about your business?
What sets Bare & Lush Co apart from others is the hospitality, the products, and care I give my clients.

Each client is surprised that I have my own skincare line, B Elle Skincare and I’m able to give them their own regimen that’s specifically for them. Each facial is customized to the skin type, condition, and goals.

Each year I have a customer appreciation event for my clients. I want to be able to show how much I care about them and how much I care about them as a community.

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
In Chicago, it’s a melting pot of places to eat. Theirs so many!

I love a good brunch from the Fremont and 14 Parish!

A good taco from any mom & pop restaurant in Pilsen or Humbolt Park.

Fried wings and fries from Harold’s on the Southside of Chicago!

The Garfield Park Conservatory is a content person’s playground.

The bean in downtown Chicago. There’s pizza (thin crust of course) on the north and south sides of Chicago.

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
Elite Estheticians is owed a shoutout from Bare & Lush Co. There wouldn’t be as much success in B & L without Nina Hayes and the team from Elite Estheticians Academy. I have learned such quality hospitality and business acumen from Nina’s mentorship. I hope that I could continue to make her proud and bring quality services to my loyal clientele of Bare & Lush Co.
