We had the good fortune of connecting with Bre Michelle and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Bre, what was your thought process behind starting your own business?
The driving force behind starting my own business was my desire to empower millennial women. I had a strong inclination to help women for some time, which led me to become a licensed cosmetologist in high school. Although I enjoyed enhancing women’s outer beauty, I soon realized that inner beauty and confidence was just as important.
Over the years, I witnessed young women relying on others to make major life decisions for them, and it struck me that they needed support to assert their independence and shape their own realities. This realization lead me to start my coaching business to help women cultivate confidence, deepen their self-worth, and establish boundaries that would enable them to live life on their own terms.
Alright, so for those in our community who might not be familiar with your business, can you tell us more?
My business is dedicated to empowering women by helping them overcome the crippling emotions of guilt, shame, and fear that often hinder their pursuit of dreams and desires.
I embarked on this coaching journey after conquering my own struggles with guilt, shame, and fear, which prevented me from prioritizing myself. I faced criticism and was labeled as selfish when I chose to put myself first in various situations. Whether it was seeking alone time, prioritizing my own needs over socializing, pursuing new hobbies, or treating myself, I experienced the fear of judgment, guilt for considering my own well-being, and shame for feeling this way. Fortunately, I discovered several coaches and programs that guided me in shifting my mindset and transforming my life for the better.
Now I firmly believe that prioritizing self care and embracing self love are not only essential but also courageous and empowering acts. I am determined to challenge the notion that putting ourselves first is selfish. When we prioritize our own well being, we become better equipped to authentically engage in all aspects of our lives. By transforming our mindset and embracing self love, we can break free from the chains of shame, guilt, and fear that hold us back. It is this realization that has fueled my passionate dedication to empowering women to embrace their best selves and guiding them in reprogramming their subconscious minds through the transformative power of self love. Together, we can redefine our priorities, rewrite the narrative, and create lives that truly inspire and fulfill us.
Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
My favorite spots in the city include:
Brunch at Perch in Downtown LA
Sunset walk along The Strand in Manhattan Beach
Outdoor yoga on the bluff in Long Beach
Boba milk tea at Oko Cafe in Gardena
Hiking followed by a picnic in Elysian Park
Refreshing iced latte from Urth Cafe
Chinese food from Mao’s in Venice
Immersion of art and history at the Getty Villa in Malibu
The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
I would like to take this opportunity to give a special shoutout to all the mentors who have been instrumental in my personal and professional growth. Their guidance and support have provided me with valuable tools and insights to help both myself and my clients. I am truly grateful for their presence in my journey.
