Meet Breanna Boyd | Owner of 5ive Spice Meal Prep

We had the good fortune of connecting with Breanna Boyd and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Breanna, what was your thought process behind starting your own business?
My thought process behind starting my own Meal Prepping Business was the commitment it required from me, the dedication it was going to take, weighing out my resources, and sacrificing the highs and lows of entrepreneurship. I attended a Culinary Arts School in Santa Monica in 2013 and over the course I started to gravitate towards fitness during that journey. I had hired a personal trainer who was recommended through a mutual friend and my focus then shifted towards having my own Meal Prepping Company, at the time I was in my early 20’s so I did not know how or where to start, but I knew that was going to be my end goal. On July 1st, 2018, I received my first client. I had absolutely nothing, again starting from scratch, I produced a menu, bought meal prep containers, and started the next day. Since that day I’ve been flourishing with amazing clients and I am truly grateful for how far I have come. Through the ups and down still remain humble and be persistent!

Alright, so for those in our community who might not be familiar with your business, can you tell us more?
5ive Spice Meal Prep is a small business that will be known for revolutionizing the way people eat and enjoy healthy food. We take pride in our ability to discover the most unique flavors from around the world and share them with Los Angeles and surrounding counties. Let 5ive Spice take you on a journey and expand your taste buds with our healthy, and delicious meals. We are dedicated to amazing customer service and strive each day to provide the best service. We will be adding a new food adventure that will solely be for mothers with infants and toddlers who want their children to eat healthily and still maintain nutrients through fresh ingredients. Our slogan is “Fresh Never Frozen” we as a business do not believe in frozen meals but rather provide our customers with fresh meals made from fresh ingredients.

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
Restaurants by the beaches have always been a favorite of mine. Bike riding enjoying the good California weather and enjoying all bars!

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
I have so many people to thank along this journey, I want to say I appreciate each individual who has impacted my life. Those who have given me the best advice when dealing with entrepreneurship, those who have never seen failure in me, and those who constantly told me I was made to be a BOSS. This journey God has blessed me with friends, and some family members who have been supportive of all my decisions and never once made me feel like my goals were impossible. Majority of the people surrounding me saw the potential, dedication, and passion I have. Some called it a hustle mindset and others called it a go-getter. I will forever be both because now that I am bringing a new life into this world I will forever make sure I am a role model and that my child knows her mom did this for her future!
