We had the good fortune of connecting with Breeze Hu and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
I’m a comic artist who tries to rebuild connections between people through storytelling. My work often focuses on how those broken people get through the trauma and face life again. Telling stories is my most direct and realistic response to real life. It’s not just a record but an attempt to use stories to make the world a better place. Comics is a business that requires a lot of time and effort, but it’s hard to get the same reward. So it’s hard to say that it’s easy to do. I spend most of my time doing other work and using my free time for comics. It’s not a bad thing, though. Even though it’s hard work, I can retain more passion for creating.
Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
There are lots of hidden gems in Baltimore. Clavel is a great modern-Mexican restaurant that serves drinks with rare flavors too. American Visionary Museum is an amazing place to go, it is a museum that only collects amateur artists, not to mention they have the greatest gift store ever. If you wanna see the underground culture scene, make sure to go check Ottobar out.
Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
First of all, my friends have always supported me tirelessly. They are my most loyal readers and mentors and have given me a constant source of inspiration and my companions during my wandering school and work. Then I’d like to thank all my favorite bands and video creators, as well as the cooking channels, without which my life would probably be much more desperate.
