We had the good fortune of connecting with Brett Miller and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Brett, Let’s talk about principles and values – what matters to you most?
Integrity is my highest value in life and business. To me, this encompasses honesty, accountability and hard work. It give me the confidence to take big swings as I believe most anything is possible if it is seen through with integrity.
What should our readers know about your business?
Eat.Drink.Sleep. builds and manages exceptional hospitality properties. We do everything from development to day to day operations of hotels and restaurants. The biggest difference between us and other firms is we have experience on both sides, so we understand the occasionally competing realities of ownership and operations. Our deep experience in operations allows us to make decisions during development that will impact the property’s profitability through its entire life cycle .
Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
We love to host and choosing an itinerary that matches our visitors’ interest. When coming to San Diego, you need to spend a lot of time at the beach. I enjoy the tidepools at Swami’s or South Ponto beach. For dining, it’s a shameless plug, but I truly believe our restaurant, JRDN, in Pacific Beach is a can’t miss for out of town guests. It’s right on the boardwalk, which is always vibrant and fun. Cucina Enoteca is one of our favorites for family and Juene et Jolie is great for a special occasion.
Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
It’s such a cliche, but my mom. I started my first business installing car radios as teenager and from that time until today, she’s always been my biggest supporter.
