We had the good fortune of connecting with Brianna Joy Beastie and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Brianna Joy, can you talk to us a bit about the social impact of your business?
When I first considered entrepreneurship, I knew I wanted to combine my skills & experience with a personal mission to help uplift others like me. By creating representation, providing opportunities, skills training, & access to jobs in the creative industry I could foster a community.

As a creative director, I saw firsthand the need for greater diversity & inclusivity in the media landscape. Creating & cultivating community has always come first. I have spent the last three years expanding my reach & cultivating a roster of like minded creatives to help change the way media is curated. Starting my own business to serve this mission & make a positive impact in the world was the best way I could use my talents for this greater purpose.

At the core of Beastie Media House is a commitment to representation & challenging traditional norms/stereotypes in the media. By doing so, we are helping to create a more inclusive & accepting society where individuals of all genders & backgrounds can feel not only seen, but also represented. We work along side other brands/companies to promote more socially responsible messaging; contributing to the larger movement towards social justice & equality.

Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
I faced nuance challenges due to my non secular upbringing. I was independent to a fault, growing up too fast made me face challenges without knowing what to expect. I worked tirelessly on my creative craft & dedicated myself to soaking up knowledge to create great works. Over time, without proper resources It manifested itself as burnout & perfectionism. So, I embarked on a journey to break free from these patterns of the past & rediscover my true self. Along the way, I learned valuable lessons about the importance of authenticity, self-care, & taking risks.

Now, at 30, I feel like I’ve only scratched the surface of my potential. Forming my creative perspective & voice didn’t happen overnight. Overcoming adversity has taught me true success comes from being your authentic self. I want the world to know I’m not just a creative, but a person who has overcome obstacles & grown tremendously as a result. I am dedicated to using my skills to create magic for others & make a difference in this world. My journey is a testament to the fact we can all break free from the limitations we place on ourselves & live creative fulfilling lives.

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
First stop, we’ll hit up Araya’s Vegetarian Place in West Hollywood for a delicious lunch. Next, we’ll head out to Malibu for a beach day. Nothing beats soaking up the sun & enjoying the beautiful California coastline sunset.

For a night out, we’ll catch The Thrilling End Of Everything concert & a pint at the DraftHouseLA. No LA trip is complete without indulging in some delicious burgers, shakes, & fries. So we’ll head to Monty’s for a scrumptious plant based meal.

For a little exercise & a stunning view, we’ll go on a hike in the Hollywood Hills. The fresh air & scenic vistas are a must-see for anyone visiting LA. Followed by a picnic at the Los Angeles State Historic Park.

For some artsy fun, we’ll have a photoshoot in DTLA & check out the latest exhibits at the Academy Museum. To wind down, we’d go shopping at Wyllow off Robertson, a micro-dispensary.

Of course, we can’t miss out on a day at Santa Monica Beach, & then head to Jinya Ramen for some vegan delights.

To end the trip on a high note, we’ll spend the day sketching & painting at the Japanese Gardens, taking in the beauty & serenity of nature. We will rent a loft & host a dinner party using locally-sourced ingredients & dance all night.
