Meet Brianna Rubio | Content Creator & Influencer

We had the good fortune of connecting with Brianna Rubio and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Brianna, what led you to pursuing a creative path professionally?
Pursuing a creative career has been a dream of mine for a very long time. Although, I had no clue where to begin because being a social media content creator/influencer did not exist when I was growing up. I love the flexibility and freedom of being able to work whenever I want, even though I am technically working 24/7, it doesn’t feel like work because I LOVE what I do! It has a huge misconception it is not just about taking pretty pictures a lot goes into it that people have no clue about. We are the business administrators, producers, creative directors, models, and photographers. I am constantly negotiating business deals, editing, communicating with my audience, responding to potential clients, researching new brands, coming up with marketing campaigns and a lot more! Creating content, whether it’s digital or video form, is a lot of work but It is my passion and creative outlet that gives me a sense of power and purpose that I wouldn’t be able to find in a traditional career path.

Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
I would consider myself an artist / creative because I believe the work, I produce for brands is a form of art in its own way which may sound funny haha. I have been a content creator/influencer for years now and it has been one of the biggest risks I’ve taken in my life. It was a risky decision because I went to college and received a BA in Psychology thinking I’d go to grad school next and become a psychologist. Instead, I took a chance and continued to pursue my passion. I was having fun taking photos and promoting brands I loved. So, I Invested and upgraded my gear to create higher-quality photos/videos. Shortly after this I noticed a significant growth in my audience and started booking better brand deals working with bigger brands, hotels, and restaurants. This has paid off not only financially, but I love what I do, and the freedom is priceless.
My goal is to help other creatives pursue this career path. I want the world to know that influencers and content creators deserve to get compensated for their work as it requires a lot of ambition, passion, and business skills to ultimately succeed in the industry.

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
I live in Los Angeles, so I don’t even know where to start! But I’d take them to my favorite beach and restaurants there are too many to name! But honestly my itinerary would be extensive there is too much to do here. I sometimes feel like a tourist, and I have lived here all my life haha

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
I want to thank my boyfriend, family, friends, and the community I built on social media for supporting my work and believing in me even when I didn’t.
