We had the good fortune of connecting with Bridgett Foster and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Bridgett, how do you think about risk?
Taking a risk is very important in business. In order to even succeed in life, you have to be willing to take a chance. Another word for risk is also faith. You have to have faith in yourself and what you are doing. Everything in life is planned in our heads before it materializes in our hands. When we are in that planning thought process, that is where we are evaluating risk.
Taking a risk in my career has played a huge part with being an owner of acting and modeling centers, plus a director. Risk is always involved, but I always cover the risk with faith. Faith in my ability. Faith in what I am doing. Faith to bring it to full fruition.
Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
As the owner of Prestige Talent.LA, I can say that I have always been proud and excited about developing young talent and watching their dreams become a reality.
I started as an actor myself, and from there, I became an acting coach. So I went from acting to coaching to being an owner of a performing arts center.
Having such a love for the arts and seeing the growth of young actors inspired me to want to guide them more, which led me to directing. I have always been a creative person, and I have enjoyed writing plays for many years.
So when the opportunity came up to direct, it was the perfect timing because it has allowed me to continue to evolve within my passion for the arts.
Getting to where I am today has not been easy, but it has been worth it. When you are flowing in what you feel you were created to do, even though the challenges come. I have always had the strength to overcome them.
If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
I would take them over to Santa Monica because it’s the best of both worlds. You can go shopping on The Promenade, have a cocktail at one of my favorite spots like The Ivy on the Beach, and end your day sitting with a blanket on the sand and seeing the sunset against the ocean waves.
The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
My mother was my mentor and a visionary. I was surrounded by a woman that knew that we all should have a vision and a purpose. A vision, a purpose, a destiny. And to know that we are put upon the earth to help and be a blessing to others. My shoutout would be to my mother, Geneva Jones.
