Meet Brittany Burton

We had the good fortune of connecting with Brittany Burton and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Brittany, other than deciding to work for yourself, what else do you think played a pivotal role in your story?
The most important decision I have made that has contributed to my success would be relocating to Los Angeles from Illinois. Dreaming of living in LA to becoming a permanent resident has changed my life forever. In fact this month marks 2 years since I made the move and I haven’t looked back since! I went from conducting interviews on the internet and via mainstream press, to conducting Red Carpet interviews live, with some of the biggest acts in entertainment. I am living out some of my wildest dreams in Los Angeles, while finding God in the process. Taking this leap of faith, gave me the courage to enter into rooms I never thought I was good enough for. It also allowed me to launch my career as a R&B singer,a goal of mine I have been working toward for years. In fact, it is the one year anniversary of my debut single “Down”. I encourage anyone struggling with a move to make the move and see how good life can truly be. You might just find yourself rubbing shoulders with the Mayor of Los Angeles like I did recently.

Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
I am an R&B singer and songwriter and recording artist on top of being an Award Winning Journalist. Being an Award Winning Journalist doing music, sets me apart from others. Nobody has this story! Studying Journalism at Howard University gave me the knowledge and insight I needed to understand the power behind my voice that I now get to translate through music. I got to where I am professionally by being humble, reliant, hard working and determined. It is so important to apply yourself and create doors to rooms that were once shut to you. I do not believe in giving up or quitting when times are hard. My faith is also what has gotten me to where I am today. It was not easy by far by keeping God first has changed the narrative. When you make a decision to step out on faith without any sure way of what will happen next, you must stay grounded and lean on the people around you for support and encouragement,
Some lessons I have learned along the way include never pouring into someone else’s life and or career more than your own and always trusting your first mind first! These lessons still ring true to me to this day.
I want the world to know that Brittany Burton is someone whose life is meant to impact the lives of the masses and leave a lasting impact on the world.

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
I would plan a week of events filled with fine dining, private events, good vibes and sunshine! To start off with, we would hit the Santa Monica pier for lunch, the beach and the arcade. Then later we would go to an event I am working on or have access to so my friend understands how exclusive and fun the Los Angeles night scene is. Over the next few days I would take them to do some tourist stuff such as the Hollywood Walk of Fame, Roscoe’s Chicken and Waffles, LA Live, The Broad Museum, Leimert Park, and The Grove. Then we would get food and drinks at all of my favorite spots including Rice & Nori (Little Tokyo), Nobu (Malibu), McConnell’s Ice Cream (Santa Monica), Starbird (Marina Del Rey), and Joey’s DTLA to name a few. Because I am into art and live entertainment, I would introduce them to the LAMCA for live jazz and contemporary art while attending a local concert either at the Hollywood Bowl or at the Hollywood Palladium. We would also catch a Lakers game at Crypto Arena to see Lebron James while he is still active in the NBA. All in all it would be a week filled with excitement, joy and unforgettable memories.

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
GOD is who I want to dedicate my shout-out to. He deserves all the grace, praise an honor. After my house caught on fire in 2023 I had to make a split decision if I was going to continue on with my plans to further my career in Los Angeles. God was the one guiding me and allowed me to see my greatness beyond any shortcomings I may have had. I recently rededicated myself to him, got baptized and am in full understanding that he is the only reason I am in Los Angeles living a successful life. However, there is also someone else I would like to dedicate this shout-out to.; Breanna Washington. Due to her resilience, unwavering love for me, support and guidance, I live life filled with light and love. Having someone that you know mentions your name in rooms when you are not around is so important. She reminds me everyday that my purpose in life is far greater than any struggle I may face in life. You must have people in your life who believe in you and your dreams. I am so thankful to have her as a confidant, protector, friend, and mentor because she ultimately changed my life and trajectory of my career.
