We had the good fortune of connecting with Brittany Chillingworth and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Brittany, what habits do you feel helped you succeed?
1. A morning routine.
2. Google Calendar – To stay organized and create a healthy work life balance.
3. Surrounding yourself with likeminded people while being very intentional about who you allow in your circle.
4. Exercise and eat healthy which helps your physical, emotional and mental health and wellbeing.
5. A positive attitude and unwavering optimistic point of view.

Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
Wild Posy is a floral and design studio located in Los Angeles, California. A modern and contemporary lifestyle brand gifting a uniquely elevated experience specializing in seasonal florals, fine art and home decor.

“I want my clients to feel a sense of individuality and free expression with an appreciation for the finer things in life – a high-quality state of health, mind, body and soul.”

Being an entrepreneur and sole-proprietor is a positively solitary path. It forces you to look inward on yourself and sit with your thoughts and ideas. No one else is holding you accountable but yourself and the daily grind has to be fueled from within – it is a lot more challenging than one might think. But, Mark Twain was right when he said, “Find a job you enjoy doing, and you will never have to work a day in your life.” I am extremely grateful and blessed to be where I am today and I look forward to the growth of my company. The speed at which my company grows is my choice as a result of the effort I put into it. The time and devotion I give to my business is what I give back to myself.

Below are a few questions to think about and be able to answer to help build a stronger, healthier and better business:

1. What is the purpose of the company and why does it exist?
2. Do you know your worth?
3. Do you know not only your long-term goals, but also what you’re going to do in the short term to make sure you achieve them?
4. People are a product of their environment – what kind of culture?
5. Who is the demographic you are selling to?
6. What is needed for the business to function and flow smoothly?
7. Which social media platforms are you using? How are you advertising?
8. Do you have a business consultant to turn to for advise?
9. When it comes time to hire, are you hiring the right people?
10. Are you actively engaging with and building relationships with clients?

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
My parents, Bill and Sheri, who have been an absolute inspiration and one of the biggest reasons why I decided to be an entrepreneur and start my own business.

I would like to thank my best friend, Mia, who is an extraordinary human and talented Social Media Director at one of the top advertising agency companies in Los Angeles – thank you for being my hypewoman and ride or die!

A huge shoutout to all of my other close friends and family for always wanting what is best or me and for believing in my dreams and aspirations.

Last but not least, I would like to take a special moment to thank Amy and Michelle who own Obsessed Jewelry in Pacific Palisades (15224 Sunset Blvd, Los Angeles, CA 90272). The Wild Posy brand is being sold in their retail store and they are the perfect example of a successful women-owned business. A huge ‘thank you’ for being an inspiration and welcoming me into the Obsessed family with open arms!
