We had the good fortune of connecting with Brittany Driscoll and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Brittany, we’d love to hear more about how you thought about starting your own business?
Truth be told, I never imagined myself starting my own business. I had a boss early on in my career continuously tell me I was going to run my own company one day and while I took it as a compliment, I thought she was crazy. I always loved the journey of building my career and the idea of steadily climbing the corporate ladder, but I did possess an entrepreneurial spirit. When I look back and connect the dots throughout my career, I can see how I was constantly looking for new challenges, loved taking risks, thrived in the unknown and was always searching for how to disrupt the status quo.
When the founders of Drybar, Alli Webb and Michael Landau, approached me with the idea to build Squeeze I admittedly took some time to consider it. Again, it was never a path I imagined myself taking. As I started to piece together what this brand and experience could be and the positive impact we could have on people’s lives, it lit a fire inside of me and I haven’t looked back.

What should our readers know about your business?
At Squeeze, our tagline is A Way Better Massage Experience because of everything that sets us apart. Our proprietary, industry-leading app allows guests to book, set personalized preferences, pay, tip, rate, and review all at their fingertips so after their massage they can just float out, avoiding the awkward checkout process. Every aspect of our experience is customizable from pressure, to music and lighting – all of these preferences are saved to a guest’s profile so we know exactly what they want, each and every time. Each massage also includes the option of deep tissue, heat therapy, aromatherapy, and percussion therapy at no additional charge.
We also like to say that we’re A Way Better Franchise Experience. Our goal with franchising Squeeze is to create a launchpad of opportunities for individuals who are passionate about people and who want to take their livelihood into their own hands. With our seasoned leadership team and streamlined processes, we provide a plethora of support to our Operating Partners across all functional areas of the business.

Starting a business from scratch is not for the faint of heart, which is also why I’m so passionate about franchising. I’m fortunate in my entrepreneurial journey but it hasn’t come without major trials. At the end of the day with any challenge, the only way through is through. I believe so strongly in our vision and everything we’re creating at Squeeze that I’m constantly reminding myself to just. keep. going.

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
I love the valley! I personally lived in the neighborhood while we were launching Squeeze and you can often find me enjoying my time on Ventura Blvd. where so many of my favorite small businesses reside.
Before any visitors arrive I always grab them a little welcome gift. The Gift Barn (around the corner from Squeeze!) puts together the most thoughtful and aesthetically pleasing baskets perfect for visitors or special occasions. I also love Bonjour Fete for any last-minute additions!

It’s no secret that I’m a Platefit junkie! It’s an efficient workout that you can do in under 30 minutes so I love taking visitors with me for a quick sweat. We’d then head over to M Street Coffee for the best cappuccino in the city, and do a little shopping at Soto & Wild Flora before heading over to Squeeze for midday massages.

Come evening, dinner and drinks at Granville or FireFly are an absolute must!

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
I certainly wouldn’t be where I am today without the support and trust of Drybar founders, Michael Landau and Alli Webb. I catapulted my career at Drybar under their guidance and am honored that they offered me the opportunity to become their business partner and ultimately launch Squeeze.
Prior to Drybar, I had an amazing female boss who inspired me to be the leader I am today. She’s a badass, to say the least, and taught me fundamental skills that I still use – from presenting and pitching to clients to leading and inspiring teams to be their best.

While there are many people who have helped me get to this point in my career, I couldn’t be more deeply appreciative of our Squeeze Squad. They’re the shining faces you see when you walk into Squeeze and the people working behind the scenes to make all the magic happen. Our Maitre ‘D’s, massage therapists, operating partners, and corporate support team are the reason that The Feel-Good Revolution resonates, and will continue to resonate, across the country. It takes a village!
