We had the good fortune of connecting with Bron Theron and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Bron, is there something that you feel is most responsible for your success?
The most important factor behind the success I have found is to be persistent. It is a must that you keep on doing what ever you believe you should do for a goal you want to reach or an idea you want to bring to life. I fail many tasks but I always keep going and if you keep going you end up somewhere. I like to be consistent with my content. I like working with the same people. I also think to feel successful you must balance everything so you don’t burn out on one project. I would say Balance, being persistent and working with a good team is a great recipe for favorable results.
Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
I have a small production company called White Ninja Productions. I started making graffiti films about 20 years ago. It was an easy task because I love graffiti art. I did however have to teach myself to edit film. That had a learning curve. I know tons of folks in the music industry so I was lucky to have good soundtracks on my video content. I learned many things as a film maker. One thing I learned is you can burn out on a film project. The best thing to do is balance your life amongst different interests. I made a movie called Primal Rap in 2008. I can honestly say I burnt out from doing that movie. I didn’t want to make movies for a while. Fortunately for me the craft brought me back! I started making graffiti documentaries and now I make narrative feature films. I also act a little bit. I enjoy the art of storytelling. One of the biggest lessons I learned is you have to forgive people that you have issues with in life. Everyone has their own struggle and sometimes that effects relationships in the workplace. I also learned some people I shouldn’t be around because they effect me so much that they make me do things that my personality would never do. You have to weed out bad energy, it is a must. I started hanging out with more people that did more filming and guess what… I did more filming. It is true that you become the company you keep. I realize these lines are cliche but they are very true. I try to do anything that keeps me motivated and doesn’t hurt others.
Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
If my best friend was visiting me I would surely take them to Hollywood. I would take them to Pinks hotdogs or some iconic diner that Hollywood is full of. I would take them to Venice beach as well to paint on the wall and enjoy the sun. I like dive bars so I would take them to the V-ROOM in Long Beach and Firkins for a burger. There are so many options living in the LA area so it is hard to choose. I would take them to a karaoke show hosted by my buddy Shed aka Chocolate Bunny. They probably would want to go to Disney but I would encourage them to save the money!
Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
I appreciate my producing team on this current movie I am working on. That is Derek and Megan Easley and Mike Della Pia . It is a hard road to making a movie and I appreciate these folks for the help and encouragement they bring to the table.
