Meet Brooke Ely Danielson | Editorial and Content Brand Consultant

We had the good fortune of connecting with Brooke Ely Danielson and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Brooke Ely, can you walk us through the thought-process of starting your business?
My mind is not short for ideas. In fact, I am always daydreaming and constantly observing life around me wondering what problem I can solve and how I can be helpful in community. While I have been full time at various companies throughout my career, I have always consulted on the to keep the other side of my brain stimulated. At a certain point I just started saying yes to the opportunities in front of me, and figured out process as It went along. Sometimes the best way to learn is to throw yourself in.

Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
My career has been a journey. A journey in journalism, fashion, health and wellness, and content. I am where I am today because I have always been hard-working and determined, that I know for sure. There were major challenges along the way from personal matters to unexpected business changes; I have been through quite a bit! None of it was easy, and even the best jobs in the world aren’t “easy”. No success is built off of an easy path. It takes hard work to excel and hard work to be exceptional at what you do. I overcame the challenges a little more equipped each time as I matured, as I sought advice from those I trusted, as I sank my feet deeper in therapy, and also I learned from the failures.
I want people to know that my brand and my story are built off authenticity. In this hectic world I double down on keeping it real, telling the truth, and sharing high-level helpful wellness tools that have shaped my life for the better.

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
We would have to start the day with a hike, complete with an ocean view. So, we’d do a few miles up Las Leones in the palisades and then head to Cross Creek Malibu for smoothies at SunLife Organics. Then, a walk on the beach in Malibu. Afterwards a trip to the Getty, followed by lunch at the Brentwood countrymart.
I like to divide my days by neighborhood. A downtown day is always necessary. A trip to LACMA and the BROAD is always special, followed by lunch at Zinque cafe.
No trip to LA is complete without cocktails at Hotel Bel-Air, then maybe some dinner right there in the bar. I also love a Polo Lounge brunch moment at the Beverly Hills Hotel.
Weekends are for hiking the Backbone trail and grabbing a healthy lunch at Kreation Kafe!

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
A huge shoutout to my girlfriends! Additionally, there are certain people along the way who have made an impact on me and my career. I interned at Vogue magazine and had the incredible pleasure of assisting Lawren Howell on shoots. I learned a lot from her about styling, visual planning, and also how to conduct oneself professionally. Secondly, my boss at GLAMOUR magazine, Gretchen Gunlocke Fenton. She is so smart, and kind, and set a tremendous example of how to be a leader in a competitive environment. She was always a champion for her team. Sally Singer was the head of Vogue.com when I was an editor there. Sally is a genius. She went on to support me in the next steps of my career, always showing up to write the most thoughtful and empowering letters of reference.
