Meet Brooke Evans | Mortgage Broker Kate Daniels | Realtor | Destination Home

We had the good fortune of connecting with Brooke Evans | Mortgage Broker Kate Daniels | Realtor and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Brooke Evans | Mortgage Broker, what do you attribute your success to?
It might sound cliché, but we truly believe that our success is built on the success of our clients. Buying a home—especially your first—comes with plenty of ups and downs, and our goal is to make the process feel less overwhelming and more empowering. At Destination Home, we’re with our clients every step of the way—helping them navigate financing, find the right home, and make confident decisions. We break down the homebuying journey into easy, digestible steps—paired with good food and wine, of course! Because learning about mortgages and homeownership should feel exciting, not intimidating.
Can you give our readers an introduction to your business? Maybe you can share a bit about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
What sets you apart from others?
At Destination Home, we do things differently—we turn the often overwhelming process of buying a home into a fun, approachable, and engaging experience. Our First-Time Homebuyer Happy Hours are designed to bring people together in a relaxed setting, where they can learn, ask questions, and connect over good food and wine. We don’t just hand out brochures and overwhelm buyers with jargon—we break things down step by step, making sure they feel informed, confident, and excited about this huge milestone in their lives.
What are you most proud of or excited about?
We’re most proud of the community we’ve built. Seeing first-time buyers walk away from our events feeling empowered instead of intimidated is what fuels us. We’re also incredibly grateful for the referrals from past clients and friends who trust us to help their people. That kind of support tells us we’re making a real difference. And, of course, we’re excited about growing Destination Home even further—creating more opportunities to connect, educate, and celebrate the journey to homeownership!
How did you get to where you are today business-wise?
It started with a simple idea: homebuying shouldn’t feel scary—it should be exciting. As a mortgage broker and realtor, we saw so many people feeling lost in the process, unsure of where to begin. We wanted to change that. By combining education with community and making the experience enjoyable, we built something that truly resonates with first-time buyers. Word-of-mouth, amazing client support, and our shared vision helped Destination Home grow into what it is today.
Was it easy? If not, how did you overcome the challenges?
Not at all! Like any business, we faced challenges—market changes, growing pains, and figuring out the best way to serve our clients while staying true to our mission. But we’ve learned that challenges are just opportunities in disguise. We leaned on each other, listened to feedback, and stayed committed to our vision. Having an amazing support system—from our families to our clients and vendor partners—made all the difference.
What are the lessons you’ve learned along the way?
The biggest lesson? Relationships matter more than anything. People want to work with those they trust, and trust is built through authenticity, education, and genuine care. We’ve also learned that buying a home isn’t just a financial decision—it’s an emotional one. That’s why making the process welcoming, personal, and stress-free is at the heart of everything we do.
What do you want the world to know about you or your brand and story?
We want people to know that Destination Home is more than just a business—it’s a community. We’re here to redefine the first-time homebuying experience, turning it into something exciting, inclusive, and approachable. Whether you’re just starting to dream about homeownership or ready to take the next step, we’re here to guide you—one happy hour at a time!
Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
If our best friends were visiting LA, I’d make sure they got the full experience—iconic sights, incredible food, and unforgettable moments. We’d start with a classic Hollywood experience, catching sunset views from Griffith Observatory before dining at the legendary Musso & Frank. The food scene here is unbeatable, so we’d hop from Joy in Highland Park for Taiwanese comfort food to Bavel for incredible Middle Eastern dishes, with stops at Bacari for tapas and Meat on Ocean for a steak dinner by the beach. A drive along the Pacific Coast Highway is a must, maybe heading up to Santa Barbara for wine tasting or just soaking in the ocean views. LA’s entertainment scene is unbeatable, so we’d catch a Dodgers game, a live show at the Hollywood Bowl, or an intimate concert at one of the city’s indie venues. And, of course, there’d be time to just enjoy the laid-back side of LA—biking along the Santa Monica coast, taco-hopping at local favorites, and sipping rooftop cocktails while watching the city lights. LA is a mix of energy and ease, and I’d make sure they got a taste of it all.
The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
We’d love to take a moment to recognize the incredible people who make Destination Home what it is. To our amazing clients—thank you for trusting us to guide you on your homebuying journey. To our friends who send their people our way, the vendors and venues who help bring our events to life, and our families, who are always our biggest cheerleaders—we are so grateful for you. And of course, a special shoutout to each other, because where would Destination Home be without Brooke & Kate!
