Meet Brooke Graves | CEO + Owner

We had the good fortune of connecting with Brooke Graves and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Brooke, how does your business help the community?
Kaleidoscope Juice was founded on providing high quality ingredients to the masses. Purchasing food has become a guessing game for most Americans with our diet predominantly consisting of processed fast food. Often, we are left guessing at grocery stores and restaurants on what ingredients are even in our food. This led to the inception of the brand. In the beginning the goal was simple, create real food options for people on the go. We acknowledged the fast pace nature of our world and need for convenient health options. When looking at a majority of the food industry it’s met with profit over people, lowering the standard of ingredients to ensure mass production in order to meet margins. Instead, we led with quality, hoping that with purpose behind our products it would resonate with customers and they would feel the difference with every sip. We have evolved since opening our doors to expand our impact. Our products are customized with real needs in mind, ranging from PMS to FODMAP diet friendly foods. Food is a uniting factor amongst humans, meant to be shared. In removing the ingredient guess work and formulating intentionally we hope to have given people in our community the ability to enjoy the uniting feeling of food without worry. Kaleidoscope Juice has always led heart first in order to leave the world a little happier with each customer we reach.

Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
The build behind Kaleidoscope Juice started as a health focused food concept and has morphed into a wellness company. I received my undergraduate degree in Nutrition Dietetics with a minor in Sustainability and my Master’s degree in Human Nutrition and Functional Medicine. The initial plan was to practice privately but with every new research study, exam and textbook thrown my way it thrilled me to incorporate what I was learning into Kaleidoscope’s menu. Balancing work and school have always been a part of my life. Yet, being able to apply what I learn in everyday situations has been the biggest blessing making all of my sleepless night’s worth it. Running a business has had its own separate challenges as I have zero business experience. Navigating the operations of now six storefronts with over 50 employees humbles me every day. However, sharing my passion for nutrition and being able to see it directly impact the lives of others means I wouldn’t trade it for the world.

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
I live in Arizona. Our company is based out of Scottsdale with a ton of fun places to visit. I always take my friends to a fun workout class at Frame, Bodi or Reformed Pilates. All are locally run fitness concepts in Scottsdale with fantastic trainers and inviting workout environments. Next, I am bias, but we always stop at Kaleidoscope Juice for organic coffee, smoothies and juice. Followed with lounging poolside at one of the many beautiful resorts Arizona has to offer. Popular spots include Mountain Shadows, Omni Montelucia and The Royal Palms. After the pool, happy hour at AZ88 is a must. The inside decor is ever-changing with local artists work. You truly see something new every time you visit. My favorite casual restaurant for dinner with friends is Clever Koi! The food is always delicious and drinks are awesome! For a special occasion, Oceans 44 has a beautiful layout, amazing food, and lovely ambience. My only advice is be prepared Scottsdale is extremely hot in the summer.

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
I would not be in the wellness field if it wasn’t for my mother. I was diagnosed with Rheumatoid Arthritis at the age of three. The diagnosis was in the early 90’s and at the time I was one of the youngest cases in Minnesota. My parents were given some pretty detrimental news on my prognosis and told the likelihood I would even be able to sit at a desk holding a pencil was slim. She put everything she had into alternative treatments. The prognosis was not my personality and she made a conscious effort to make sure I never felt like the sick kid guaranteeing I never felt held back. I was taken to acupuncturists, chiropractors, herbalists and have tried every anti-inflammatory diet in the book. Through my mother’s tenacious grit and love she saved me. Highlighting the importance of health and wellness throughout my entire upbringing and for that I owe my mother not only my career but my life.
