We had the good fortune of connecting with Bruna Bertossi and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Bruna, how has your perspective on work-life balance evolved over time?
Balancing my personal and professional life has been an evolving journey for me, particularly as I’ve navigated various cultural influences since moving from Brazil to China and after the United States, Arrived in Los Angeles in 2021.
A significant aspect of my balance stems from my deep spirituality and faith in God, which I prioritize in my daily life.

Growing up in Brazil, spirituality was deeply ingrained in my upbringing. I was raised in an environment where spiritual beliefs and practices were a source of strength and guidance. These beliefs have taught me the importance of nurturing my inner self and seeking protection through faith.

By maintaining a strong connection with my spirituality, I create a foundation that allows me to navigate the demands of my professional life while ensuring my personal needs are met. I take time for meditation, prayer, and reflection, which help me stay grounded and focused. This practice not only reinforces my faith but also empowers me to approach challenges with resilience and clarity.

As I continue to evolve in my career, I’m on my journey. I’ve learned that true balance comes from honoring both my professional aspirations and my personal well-being. By prioritizing my spirituality, I am able to cultivate a harmonious relationship between the two, ensuring that I remain centered, fulfilled, and capable of giving my best in all aspects of my life.

Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
As an artist, my journey has been profoundly shaped by the challenges I’ve faced in my personal life. These experiences have not only enriched my art but have also deepened my connection to my performances. I believe that my ability to be fully present on stage is what truly sets me apart from others in the field. I strive to bring authenticity and emotional depth to every role I undertake, allowing my audience to connect with the very essence of the human experience.

What truly differentiates me is my passion for languages; I am fluent in Portuguese, Spanish, and English, and I possess basic proficiency in Mandarin, thanks to my five years living in Shanghai, China. This multilingual capability not only enhances my versatility as an artist but also reflects my commitment to embracing diverse cultures and perspectives.

Writing has always been a passion of mine, and this year, I took a significant step by transforming my poetry into music. This evolution has empowered me to express my emotions and narratives in a powerful and resonant way.

Throughout my career, I have encountered numerous challenges, ranging from personal hardships to the demands of the industry. Each obstacle has imparted valuable lessons about resilience and the importance of staying true to myself and my art. I’ve learned that every setback is not just a hurdle but an opportunity for growth, and that embracing vulnerability can be a profound source of strength.

What I wish for the world to know about me is that my art is not merely a profession; it is a reflection of my journey and my spirit. I am in the world to exchange experiences—both joyous and painful—inform my performances and my writing, enabling me to create work that resonates deeply with others. As I continue to evolve as an artist, I remain devoted to bringing joy, authenticity, and inspiration to those around me through my craft. My goal always is inpiring you.

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
If my best friend were visiting LA, I’d blend nature and culture. We could start with a hike at Runyon Canyon for stunning views, then visit Griffith Observatory and have lunch at Brazil Restaurant. A highlight would be an evening at the theater—experiencing LA’s vibrant arts scene is a must for me as an actress.

A day at Malibu Beach would follow, where we would relax by the ocean and watch the sunset. We’d then explore the Santa Monica Mountains, visit a farmers’ market, and finish with a peaceful walk at Topanga State Park, reflecting on the week by the sea.

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
I would like to dedicate my shoutout primarily to God, for placing the dream of pursuing a career in the arts in my heart at the young age of nine when I began my journey in theater. Additionally, I want to recognize my mother, who has been my greatest supporter. Despite growing up without my father’s presence, my mother and my grandparents provided the love and encouragement that formed the foundation of my spiritual and personal growth. They taught me to embrace the world and pursue my dreams with passion and determination.

I am grateful for the journey I have embarked on, which I liken to climbing mountains—an experience that resonates deeply with my Capricorn nature. Each challenge has strengthened my resolve and commitment to my craft.

Recently, I released a song titled “Oxigênio para a Alma,” which reflects my perspective on love in its many forms. The song encapsulates the idea that each day offers a new beginning and new choices to make. It emphasizes the importance of love as a daily commitment to ourselves and to those around us. This song is a celebration of life’s constant renewal and a reminder to cherish every moment.

In essence, I owe much of my growth and success to the support and love from those around me, and I hope to inspire others to recognize the influence of their own mentors and supporters in their journeys.
