We had the good fortune of connecting with Bryan Lysaght and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Bryan, what do you attribute your success to?
FEARLESS. My approach towards art/craft was fearless, because fear of the unknown inhibits creativity. Being opened to uncertainty allows me to get creative while being present, making space, and inviting Inspiration.

Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
The idea behind my art is to create self awareness. Being aware of who you are and Loving your journey as a person. Because “YOU MATTER” the Forbidden fruit Narrative is giving ourselves an opportunity to not take away options from yourself, accepting what’s for you to moved forward in life. Taking the time to explore these different phases of you(different color apples), tapping into your better self that you never knew that you could do. I’ve used my creative outlet in my time to heal. I want to show everyone that you can heal too, and that you too can be happy, walk your path. Mental health is real and it’s serious I’ve realized that when I too have suffered from many forms of depression. Even till this day I feel it but can control it to the point where I do not let it take over. I am all for feeding my spiritual needs before anything.

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
I currently reside in NYC there’s ample of things to do. I am definitely big on visiting Art gallery events/ exhibitions around the city. Shopping in Soho. Definitely a Yankee, Knicks, or Nets game for sure, and of course there’s plenty of restaurants to go in Long Island city here in Queens , City Island in the Bronx, Brooklyn and all of Manhattan, there’s so many to choose.

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
I can not say that I have mentors in this game honestly but I have family that I look up to. First is my Father, I am truly grateful to have one in my life. From the jump he’s believed in me. My dad is the reason why I fell in love with street art, hip hop culture etc my dad well my parents both of my mothers as well they’ve never said no to any of us (I have two brothers and three sisters )about following our dreams and if we ever needed guidance we can always go to them for anything. We do not set each other up to fail we are the L-Unit.
