We had the good fortune of connecting with Bulletproof Belv and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Bulletproof, can you share a quote or affirmation with us?
“Faith Without works is dead” is a quote I got from the Bible, book of James. I was raised in religion & with the belief that faith alone is more powerful than putting in the work yourself. I like that this quote is over looked as it shows, faith alone will not work. You must be willing to put in work while having faith in yourself and the path you’ve chosen for your future.
Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
First in foremost, nothing sets me apart from anyone. I love making music & I’m pretty sure almost every artist does as well. I am so proud of the growth of myself and my music. I was a rapper and now I’m an artist, which I love being. Professionally, I got to where I’m at today by taking every opportunity no matter if I was afraid of change or not. I’m happy this journey was not easy, because rough times help you learn & grow. I would’ve hated myself if I stayed stagnant. I’ve always been dedicated to getting through challenges by putting them in my songs as a form of therapy. Best lesson I’ve learned is my opportunities are for me & me alone. The world is built on stories of the past & what the future would be, everyone has a story & my story is to good to miss out on. My story may even help others in ways others can’t. My story will tell you to keep trying because there is a light at the end of the darkest tunnels.
Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
Ok, not going to lie, I don’t go out that much but for a best friend hmmm. I would take them to Shaking Crab in Clifton,Nj for some good seafood & drinks. Definitely would have to go to Long Branch beach in long Branch, NJ for the boardwalk but only in nice weather. Definitely would take my best friend to “So Amazing Studios” where I make my music at just to vibe and have fun, hopefully make a record as well. Me & my best friends uplift each other and talk about future business endeavors & that the most interesting thing at this point. Meeting new people that are creators in any aspect is exciting as those type of humans have tapped into the very nature of living… “when you stop creating, you start dying”. Transparency Gallery in Asbury Park, NJ has so much dope are and a good vibe, I definitely recommend tourist to go there, especially if you like art about music.
Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
A very Big shout out to my mother Arlene Anderson, Rest In Peace. The most important thing she has ever done for me was NOT Telling me to quit my dreams. A lot of family members supported me as well as fans & I appreciate you all. Thank you !!!!
