We had the good fortune of connecting with Bunny and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Bunny, maybe we can start at the very start – the idea – how did you come up with the idea for your business?

The Bunny House Candle Story started in 2020. I thought I was not going to make it. While driving on the freeway, I felt an extreme headache that I had to park my car and call 911. That call saved my life. I had a ruptured brain aneurysm and was fortunate it was detected on time.

While recuperating and trying to get back on my feet, I started candle making. Initially, it was to keep my mind off my worries but this little hobby has become a source of inspiration.

To celebrate the first year of my second life, I made candles ordered by family and friends from different parts of the globe. Candles represent hope and I feel that coming out alive from the whole experience, it’s exactly what I want to share with others.

The Bunny House Creations

I would always try out food ideas and give them to family and friends. Every time my husband would ask what I was cooking, I would reply in jest, “Bunny House” and the name of the dish.

Over the years that we have been together, The Bunny House was our little world from which we named every single thing that I have cooked, baked, and created. And on this beautiful Easter day, we are opening our Bunny House to more people and share the love and affection that bunnies are known for.

Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.

While i was recuperating I was thinking of what to do next with my life since I couldn’t go back to nursing school and my job anymore because of the rupture.

While laying in bed I was formulating the perfect candle. Before my brain aneurysm ruptured I made candles as a hobby. My rupture happened in the pandemic so my husband could not visit me in the hospital. He just sent me my phone and speakers. So I was playing songs all day. I couldn’t watch tv because I was sensitive to light. The only thing that calms me down in the hospital is to listen to music.

All my candles are like a destination. It takes you to a place or a memory. While thinking of how I can make the perfect candle experience, I decided to add all my music playlist and attach it to my candles that inspires me as I make each scent. This little music addition was my way of sharing my journey of healing and make it a whole new experience.

My best sellers are Take Me To The Beach, Take Me On A Hike and Read Me A Story. These are things I wanted to do while I was in the hospital. Beach and hiking were my happy place so the candles come with a curated playlist that is connected to the candle.

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
I would definitely take them to the beach, show them how nice California beaches are. I would also take them on a hike to show them how the city look from the top of the mountain.

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
I dedicate my shout out to all Brain Aneurysm warriors, survivors and the fallen.
