We had the good fortune of connecting with Caleigh London and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Caleigh, we’d love to hear more about how you thought about starting your own business?
As a 13-year-old entrepreneur from Redondo Beach, CA, balancing my business, C. London “Keep It Cute”, with my commitments as a student and athlete was a challenging yet rewarding endeavor. Here’s a glimpse into my thought process and motivations behind starting my own business while managing a busy schedule:

Passion for Beauty and Entrepreneurship: I’ve always had a passion for beauty products, particularly lip gloss. Combining that passion with my entrepreneurial spirit, I saw an opportunity to create my own line of lip glosses that reflected my personal style and preferences.

Time Management and Prioritization: Balancing my business with my responsibilities as a student and athlete required careful time management and prioritization. I knew that I would need to allocate specific time slots each day to focus on different aspects of my life, whether it be attending classes, practicing volleyball, or working on my business.

Leveraging Personal Experience: Being a part of Club Volleyball for LAVBC (Los Angeles Volleyball Club) and being a student allowed me to leverage my personal experiences and connections within these communities to market and promote my lip gloss brand. I could tap into my network of friends, teammates, and classmates to spread the word about C. London “Keep It Cute” Lipgloss.

Learning and Growth: Starting my own business at a young age presented a valuable learning opportunity. I embraced the challenges and setbacks as opportunities for growth and learning. Whether it was learning about product development, marketing strategies, or customer service, I was constantly seeking to improve and refine my skills as an entrepreneur.

Support System: I was fortunate to have a strong support system consisting of my Mom , friends, and mentors who believed in me and my vision for C. London “keep It Cute” Lipgloss. Their encouragement and guidance helped me stay motivated and focused during the ups and downs of entrepreneurship.

Overall, my decision to start C. London Lipgloss was driven by a combination of passion, ambition, and a desire to challenge myself and pursue my dreams. While it required dedication and perseverance to balance my various commitments, the experience has been incredibly rewarding, and I’m proud of what I’ve accomplished in my first year as a young entrepreneur.

Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
As an entrepreneur, student, and athlete, the past year with C.London “Keep It Cute” lipgloss has been an exhilarating journey filled with challenges, growth, and moments of triumph. What sets C.London “Keep It Cute” apart is not just the product itself, but the story behind it – the story of perseverance, passion, and the pursuit of dreams.

What I’m most proud of is the ability to balance my roles as an entrepreneur, student, and athlete. It hasn’t been easy, but the challenges have only fueled my determination. From managing time effectively to staying focused amidst a busy schedule, every obstacle has been an opportunity for growth.

Professionally, getting to where I am today has been a journey of dedication and resilience. It wasn’t easy – there were days I didn’t want to wake-up to attend a Pop-Up event. But once I arrive and I see the faces for people that took their time to show-up for me, it fills my heart with joy.

The lessons I’ve learned are invaluable. I’ve learned the importance of self-care and rest. I do weekly check-in’s with my mom to keep me grounded and focused. I getting better with my time management skills. Being your own boss is alot of work. Hardwork will pay off in time.

What I want the world to know about C.London “Keep It Cute” and my story is that it’s more than just a lipgloss brand – I want my brand to grow along with me. I don’t have bold colors in my line yet because I’m only 13. My line will blossom in time.I am in know rush to grow up. I have recently added a face wash to my collection and I am working on a moisturizer..

In essence, C.London “Keep It Cute” is not just about lip gloss; it’s about empowerment, resilience, and the courage to chase your dreams relentlessly. The path to success is rarely easy, and overcoming challenges is a natural part of the journey. Whether it’s facing academic pressure, navigating the complexities of entrepreneurship, or pushing through physical barriers as an athlete, resilience and determination are essential qualities.

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
Keep in mind that we are only 13 years old so there’s only so much we can do.

But first, since I have an e-bike with 2 seats we would go to the beach first and hang out. I would take her to the pier to get junk food then sit on the beach and have a photoshoot and post on IG & SNAP of our every move.

We would then go to my Mom’s favorite lunch spot “Martha’s on 22nd street” or “The Kettle” because there is an ice cream shop and cute dress shopping within walking distance. And we can always go to the volleyball courts to get in a quick game.

I love living in the Southbay. I always run into my friends when I’m out.

As the days continues we would probably hit a movie or ride to the mall to go make-up shopping the meet up with my family for dinner at “Joey’s Manhattan Beach”. My Company C.London “Keep It Cute” allowed me to buy myself an e-bike so I am able to get around the city.
