Meet Calvaniece Mason | Entrepreneur

We had the good fortune of connecting with Calvaniece Mason and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Calvaniece, do you have a budget? how do you think about personal finances?
After you have made financial mistakes, you will understand that it’s detrimental for you create better financial habits, become more financially literate and get good with your money.
When it comes to my finances personal and business I operate solely within a budget. My purchasing decisions are made based upon budgets.

What should our readers know about your business?
I am entrepreneur and founder of Calvaniece Mason Hair Brands Co. I help African American women grow & maintain health hair with sustainable non-toxic haircare products and ethically sourced premium quality hair extensions so that they can feel their best self.
I trained with the Francesco Group hairdressing academy in the United Kingdom before working for haircare companies Aveda and Bronner Brothers.
In 2015 I launched Calvaniece Mason Hair Brands Co. with the Elite Pro Turbo | Lite professional hairdryer designed to reduce hairdressers work related injuries, then I later added hair extensions to my brands offering. However, at that time my brand wasn’t as broad as It could be.
In 2018 I started suffering from hair loss in search for a solution to what I was experiencing I decided I would create a solution for all women who may experience hair loss. This resulted in a re-launch of my brand and the Anti Itch + Growth Oil being birthed as my staple product in my haircare lineup.
My haircare line consists of a total of 13 products across the scalp care, cleansing, conditioning, and styling categories.
This has been a journey for me, and I have truly learned so much about business, believing in yourself, sacrifices and shifting your perspective.
What I want people to know is that building a brand and business takes work. It’s not something that happens overnight it takes time to create brand awareness, build loyalty with consumers and brand love. You’re going to need a budget in place for your business and adhere to it strictly.
Analyze your business in quarters and set your goals based upon each quarter of the year. Budget for any photo shoots, ad campaigns, bloggers, influencers, anything that you would like to accomplish for your business in quarters. Always use an accounting software for budgeting your business and tax purposes it will make your life much easier during tax filing.
I want people to know you should never stop being student when it comes to business. We often start experiencing success or growth in sales and forget to invest in training or continued education, but you should never stop learning. Allocate a budget in your business to cover courses whether it’s on E-commerce, Facebook Ads, creating an E-Book never stop learning because the more you learn the more options you have for monetizing.

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
If I had a friend in town we would go to events such as a wine tasting, soap making or candle making event. I love a good time and I am really feeling the sip and paint karaoke type of events.
While there are several restaurants that I love we might just go with the flow of whatever our taste buds are giving at the time. For a good brunch vibe I would take them to Tribeca Restaurant and Bar Buckhead the food is delicious I love their empanadas and Rasta Pasta.
Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
I want to Shoutout all of the women in this world that are getting up every single day doing all that they can to be the very best version of themselves.
I also want to Shoutout women such as Tiffany Alice author of “Get Good With Money”, Nicole Lynn author of “Agent You”, Rachel Rodgers author of “We Should All Be Millionaires” and Faith Jenkins author of “Sis, Don’t Settle”. I want to Shoutout these authors for sharing their insights, inspiration and wisdom with all of us women who are on our journey to success and the women who are figuring it all out.
I want to Shoutout my mother for loving and supporting me on my journey. Lastly, I want to Shoutout my publicist Alyssa Baker for seeing the vision of my brand and pushing my brands story, purpose and vision.
