Meet Camílle Fiori Nourish Meal Delivery

We had the good fortune of connecting with Camílle Fiori Nourish Meal Delivery and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Camílle Fiori, can you walk us through the thought-process of starting your business?
Nourish Meal Delivery was born from a deeply personal place. The concept that it’s a company or career I constructed does not feel like something I felt I built but more of a calling, more of a requirement I needed to implement, to ensure vital change in women’s health, for the future of mankind. It’s that serious to me, to ensure the necessary nourishment mothers deserve to have. Organic, gluten-free, lectin-free, plastic-free, pure meals with no seed oils and without artificial flavorings, preservatives, or additives.
After my first pregnancy, I experienced postpartum depression — and quickly realized, even though I worked as a newborn care specialist, how little support exists for new moms, especially when it comes to the most basic, essential needs like nourishing food. When caring for newborns in my career, I had recognized the missing need for caring for the mother’s nutrition and how that affected the whole family bonding with their new baby. Going through it myself, I was physically depleted, emotionally overwhelmed, and trying to recover — and I felt isolated in my experience.
Years prior, I had gone through tonsillitis, my body started attacking itself, becoming insulin resistant, intolerant to 14 different foods, started having my menstrual cycle 3 times a year, and was misdiagnosed with PCOS while an inflammatory response increased me 10 jeans sizes. I sought out natural remedies, studied as a Holistic Health Coach, Ayurveda, and as a Functional Chef. I went through a three year process of detoxing with natural allergy elimination treatments, acupuncture, Chinese herbs, healing my microbiome, resetting hormones, eliminating food intolerances. My thesis in school was creating an online platform about living a toxic-free life, educating others about pesticides, GMOs, probiotics, enzymes, endocrine and hormone disrupters, and how to detox while curating my paleo, vegan, gluten-free, etc. recipes. I had longed to give others hope with real solutions if they were going through anything near what I experienced.
When I returned to taking care of moms in postpartum myself as a birth and postpartum doula, I found many of them also had insulin resistance, thyroid problems, PCOS, autoimmune issues, and food intolerances. I had my own experience of healing and cooking with alternatives when I had my food intolerances and was able to nourish these moms in a deeper way, cooking healing meals for my clients — warm stews, lactation tonics, and grounding soups rooted in Asian and Ayurvedic principles. I catered for their food allergies, for breast milk production, sugar levels, and thyroid support. I saw firsthand when the mother was taken care of nutritionally, the baby was provided with more care and bonded better with both parents.
Their response was more than I could have ever imagined. They not only loved the food, they felt deeply “nourished”, and also many expressed they’d felt relieved that they could focus on enjoying their baby because they’d healed so much more easily than a previous birth or healed faster than they’d heard it could take in postpartum. Messages and calls came in, attributing their quick healing due to my nourishing meals. Requests for meals increased and I found myself cooking late into the night after my postpartum doula daytime shifts just to keep up with the demand. I realized cooking until 3am wasn’t sustainable — that’s when the idea for Nourish Meal Delivery truly came to life. The name just made sense. It was like a voice sung it to me and it was destined to be called Nourish Meal Delivery because that’s the essence of what the meals truly provide. I began taking orders in a more structured fashion, branching off of my doula and lactation services. Clients and customers who moved out of California started suggesting ordering to their friends out of state. Soon I began healing moms Nationwide.
I wanted to bring that level of thoughtful, healing nourishment to more mothers — to create a postpartum experience where women feel cared for from the inside out. And for pregnant moms, too. Many moms only think about nourishment after the baby is born but moms need nourishment in pregnancy too. At Nourish Meal Delivery, our meals are inspired by Korean, Chinese, and Ayurvedic traditions, with the only sugar being dates, filled with both adaptogens and galactagogues to support milk supply, plus packed with nutrients to help replenish the body after birth as well as high protein meals for pregnancy. It’s food designed not just to fill the belly, but to deeply restore and nourish a mother’s entire system. And as an International Board Certified Lactation Consultant, I have tailored foods that will speed healing while increasing milk production.
Starting a business was not my intention; it was a fire in my soul, a driving force urging to me to get these moms what they immediately needed. In hindsight, it was also my way of turning pain into purpose — helping moms feel truly held, healing and nourish them during one of the most important transitions of their lives.

Can you give our readers an introduction to your business? Maybe you can share a bit about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
What is the most important factor of your success/the success of your brand?
I suppose connecting with the moms from a place within myself, if she was my sister, or that were me, how I’d want to feel, how I’d want to be treated. Because she might have had a really traumatic birth. Or a feeling where she was really good at her job and now trying to help a tiny human being survive didn’t come as naturally, and with the sleep deprivation on top of the detox of pregnancy hormones, the mom guilt is real, and it can be daunting when it feels no one understands, plus you’re trying to heal, and you don’t have physical energy to make food, or don’t have groceries or time because your baby is crying. There are so many instances and issues new Moms have, that I experienced myself, or with my own doula clients, and it can be debilitating or it can be empowering, and a ray of hope from someone offering encouraging words or a simple gesture of a meal, it can make a huge difference on how that mom can get through her day, and also on the energy she now gives to the baby.
I remember a client telling me that after a long night with her newborn, the Nourish Meal Delivery waiting for her was the first thing that made her feel like herself again. Or emails from moms who had ordered before, wanting to buy a gift card or to send direct meals to their newly pregnant friends so they can experience the support they got from consuming Nourish Meal Delivery. Or the messages asking when my cookbook will be out. These keep me going.
But honestly, it’s also been about persistence. There were slow times when orders were low and it felt tough, and confusing, but I kept going—tweaking recipes, listening to what moms really needed, and believing in the vision. That mix of heart and hustle has made all the difference. At Nourish Meal Delivery, moms deserve more than just “something to eat”. They deserve food that hugs back. Every meal is hand-crafted with love, purpose, and ingredients so pure your great-grandmother (and your future grandkids) would approve.
What is the most difficult decision you’ve ever had to make?
When COVID hit, my tiny apartment had 4 freezers and I was shipping Nationwide in mason jars and back then I was also still collecting them locally to reuse them. I wanted to do what was right by not placing my organic meals in cheap plastic containers just to save money like other restaurants. Studies show they just leak microplastics into food, which would therefore work against the crucial healing! What moms eat impact not only IQ scores and the hormonal and emotional behavior of their babies, but the longevity of their future selves. Not to mention disrupt endocrine and hormonal systems. Addtionally, how babies are impacted nutritionally can either form trauma, spiraling how they then interact with their dynamic surrounding food as well as with others as they grow into adults, or it can form healthy humans and happy relationships. Therefore I was attempting to be fully sustainable through placing my meals in jars, which at that time, no companies were doing. But once COVID hit, the shipping company I was using didn’t handle my customers’ packages as carefully as they had pre-pandemic. I lost $7K of product and the shipping company ignored my claims of damaged shipments. It was a financial nightmare. I almost went bankrupt. I could have told myself to stop, this is the sign that no one else was doing this for a reason, that I’m just one person, a single mom, trying to build the only organic, gluten-free, lectin-free, seed oil-free, plastic-free, inflammatory oats-free postpartum meal delivery service… and that I should give up. But I decided to take a leap of faith to keep going because I wasn’t going to compromise my standards for what I felt new mothers deserve, nor my vision of healthier babies and therefore healthier communities in the future. It probably would have been easier if I had a coach who could help me with logistics but every time I googled, or tried to call companies, no one had answers for me as a small business owner. They only wanted to talk to the large ones.
I switched to UPS, who handled my customers’ packages in a more delicate way. They have never damaged any of my customers’ packages. Eventually due to the weight of the jars adding to the shipment fees, I decided to switch from jars to certified compostable containers, which was my sister’s idea. I decided the change to certified biodegradable packing was worth the value of keeping people and our planet safe even if triple the price of plastic containers. I won’t change my standard of being a plastic-free company and feel most of my customers, who are families that seek pure, organic meals, value this important component.
Add pivotal turning moment if you want
A pivotal turning moment was trusting myself — especially when things weren’t going smoothly. There were times early on when orders were low, I was exhausted, and I felt resistance all around me — internally and externally. Choosing to keep going anyway, to believe in the mission and in my own ability to figure it out, was incredibly difficult.
There were also moments where I had to make tough business calls — like taking items off the menu that I personally loved but just weren’t selling, or learning to ask for help when I was used to doing everything myself. I brought on my partner doula and we decided to drop prices by 70% even after inflation hit during COVID despite the financial issue from my former shipping company damaging $7K of product. We decided to keep meals oat-free to decrease inflammation for moms despite what others were mass marketing in large batches to moms. I still only hand-craft meals upon order, flash freeze and ship out per order. Letting go of control, pivoting when needed, and staying rooted in the bigger picture took courage and humility. This work is sacred to me. When I ship a package, I pray to offer healing for each and every one of our customers.
Do you have a favorite quote or affirmation? What does it mean to you?
One of my favorites is from Maya Angelou: “When women take care of themselves, they become powerful.” It really hits home for me, especially because taking care of myself hasn’t always been easy. As a mom and business owner, it’s something I have to be intentional about, and I’m definitely not perfect at it. I think a lot of women feel like they have to have it all together all the time, but the truth is, being vulnerable and opening up to other women about my imperfections and what I need actually makes me stronger. To let go of worrying how others will see me and realize self reflection and authenticity is more important at the end of the day. If I am doing my best — that’s all that matters.
Over time, I’ve realized that self-care isn’t about perfection — it’s about reconnection. Reconnecting to my spirit, my body, my needs, my joy. To what my soul yearns for… healing others is healing myself. In that moment and many other little moments, I’m reminded I’m worthy of care, too. That mindset has been a big part of my personal growth and it’s at the core of what we do at Nourish Meal Delivery. When moms feel supported, fed, and seen, they begin to come back to themselves. When we recharge our own battery, we have more love to give to our children. And that’s where the power is. When we take care of ourselves, we model that for our family and children, and doesn’t every parent want their children to be better than them? And healthier than them?
What do you want your legacy to be? What do you want people to remember about you?
I want to be remembered as someone who helped mothers feel seen, nourished, and supported — not just with food, but with care, intention, integrity, and love. Someone who reminded women that their voice matters, that their healing matters, and that they don’t have to do it all alone. Someone that nourished their heart.
I hope my legacy is one of creating softness in a world that often asks women to be hard. Of making it okay to slow down, to receive, to rest, and to take up space in your own healing.
Most of all, I want people to remember that I showed up — with honesty, kindness, a real commitment to integrity and truth in healing through pure food and true nourishment. I’d like people to feel inspired to do that in whatever they love, and feel a confidence with whatever that is for them, they too can impact others in a meaningful and true way of heart.
I also want people to reflect on epigenetics. Why are people still, in 2025, getting Grub Hub gift cards for new parents? Because they haven’t heard of Nourish Meal Delivery or maybe it’s because we haven’t advertised yet except word of mouth. Otherwise if they knew our standards, they would. And then when they do, they order, they feel the differences, and then they order again.
Nourish Meal Delivery isn’t just a meal service; it’s a movement rooted in reverence for the mother, the family, and the future. In a world that often overlooks the nutritional needs of postpartum and pregnant women, I want people to see that Nourish Meal Delivery sets a new standard — one where purity, intention, healing, and sustainability are non-negotiable. This isn’t convenience food; it’s food for the spirit, for longevity, created from lived experience, deep care, and an unwavering commitment to integrity. Every bite is a step toward healing, not just for the mother, but for generations to come. If you believe that nourishment should be sacred, that food should support life on every level — physical, emotional, hormonal, and even spiritual — then it’s time to eat to that standard. Order Nourish Meal Delivery, not just for the delicious meals, but for the mission behind them: a future where mothers are fed well, feel whole, and are finally, truly nourished.

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
There are two other mothers who have encouraged me from the beginning, Phia and Sophie. They also taught me the importance of leaning on others and that women go farther faster, together. From business advice to social media help, their support has been incredible. Nourish Meal Delivery is like a sisterhood of three moms on a mission to spread awareness about pure nutrition.
What’s one thing about your industry that outsiders are probably unaware of?
Many people don’t realize how critical the right kind of nourishment is — not just after birth, but throughout pregnancy and the entire motherhood journey. The truth is, what you eat during pregnancy and postpartum directly impacts energy, healing, hormone balance, milk supply, and even mood. But it’s often overlooked or treated as an afterthought. It may be obvious to most that what the mother eats is literally growing the cells of her baby that will be with them for lifetime. What’s truly fascinating to know is that grandmaternal cells are passed into her grandchildren’s bodies through an evidence-based phenomenon called microchimerism that promotes reproductive health and fitness over generations. Its epigenetics. Since our own cells are changing literally by how we supplement (methylated vitamins, minerals, essential fatty acids, amino acids) and by what we eat, no one can argue how important the quality of pure, organic food is for an expecting or new mother.
What most outsiders also don’t see is that mothers are often sent home — whether from a prenatal appointment or after giving birth — with very little guidance on how to care for themselves. Even in the hospital, they’re given foods laden with seed oils. There’s plenty of focus on the baby, but hardly any on the mother’s nutritional needs, even though her body is doing incredibly hard and beautiful work. There’s a huge gap in support, especially when it comes to food. That’s where Nourish Meal Delivery helps families. Whether it’s pregnancy, postpartum, or simply a season of life where extra support is needed, we make it easy for mothers and families to feel nourished, replenished, and deeply cared for — one healing bite at a time.
At Nourish Meal Delivery, organic, pure food is the center, as a powerful tool for healing, support and also just optimal health. We focus on organic, warming, grounding meals that are easy to digest and tailored to a mother’s unique needs while also ensuring that highest quality standards are met.
How do you think about risk-taking, and what role has it played in your life and career?
Starting Nourish Meal Delivery was one of the biggest risks I’ve ever taken — emotionally, financially, and professionally. I was a doula and lactation consultant with a dream to create something that didn’t quite exist yet. I started this company before anyone was doing anything remotely similar. There was no roadmap, no guarantee of success. Just a deep belief that mothers deserved better care, and that food was a powerful part of that healing. At one point I was getting messages at night from new moms, who were my doula clients I’d helped that day or the day before, in their home, helped with postpartum recovery and cooked for them. They just kept adding up. I saw their desperation for healing through what was in their own fridges: premade soups from markets their partners grabbed during moments they could slip away to find nutrition for their wives… laden with seed oils. Partners would ask me for grocery lists and recipes and were desperate to help. I realized they had nowhere to order except text me requests for my meals, and it dawned on me: if I’m their only avenue or last resort, I need to courier it to their homes. Without realizing it, I was offering delivery. I first started couring meals in jars and would drive and drop off food all over Los Angeles, and then even collect the jars from apartment doorsteps and lobbies myself in hopes to encourage a plastic-free lifestyle… but that was very time consuming!
Every step has involved risk — but also alignment. I’ve learned that when your work is rooted in purpose, the risks feel a little more like expansion than fear. And I remind myself that the biggest risk of all would’ve been not following the call to serve. It was me living my life, connected to these moms that I was supporting as their doula, the introduction of each person in my own life was led by the Divine. It wasn’t “work” – it was me knowing Jodie needing healing that day, knowing that a single mother with a toddler and a newborn, Ashley, wouldn’t have to worry about food when her meals were sent off, that Melissa was going to have a better recovery, having meals prepared for her this time. The risk was more the thought of them losing out on true nourishment, and my heart was longing for that, for them.
For me, risk is about trusting your gut — even when it feels scary or turned into a financial risk. I knew I had to keep going because pure meals are what new mothers deserve to have. But it’s never a risk to follow your conscience. It’s more of a risk to be tempted not to, to say yes to that Instant Cart shopper who only had conventional produce available, sprayed with pesticides. That wasn’t going to happen. I’d rather email or call the mom and risk looking silly saying, “I’m sorry, I have to refund you this particular meal because they were out of organic zucchini so I can’t make you this properly, but I’d like to also give you this other meal as a gift,” instead of cheating people with genetically modified food. Risk meant staying up late cooking meals after doula shifts, putting my income into compostable packaging and real ingredients, never compromising my standards even with inflation, and slowly building something from the ground up.
Other than deciding to work for yourself, what was the single most important decision you made that contributed to your success?
The most important decision I made was to not do this alone. From the very beginning, I knew I needed to build a village — not just in my personal life, but in my business as well. Asking for help, receiving support, and surrounding myself with people who believed in the mission of Nourish Meal Delivery has made all the difference.
Entrepreneurship can be incredibly isolating, especially when you’re building something so close to your heart and you have people in your life, like colleagues, randomly texting you asking for your recipes or free meals. There are boundaries to be learned and to set, a need to empower others, imposter syndrome, a growing period of humility and frustration, and feeling of guilt that I still haven’t done enough. Staying grounded in my family and friends has helped me stay resilient, especially during the hard moments. I’ve learned that leaning on others doesn’t make the vision any less mine — in fact, it allows it to grow bigger than I ever imagined.
At the same time, I’ve stayed true to my core values. I’ve made sure that every decision — from the meals created to the experience designed for customers to receive them — reflects the heart of Nourish Meal Delivery: care, integrity, and deep nourishment for mothers. Letting people in while holding onto that clarity has been one of the most powerful choices I’ve made and has only reinforced the company’s original values and mission.
