We had the good fortune of connecting with Camille Tamayo and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Camille, is there something that you feel is most responsible for your success?
I think one of the most important important factor behind my success, is that this is a calling I had earlier in life that I fully submitted myself into. When I was in college, I pursue to study World Religion because I want to understand the what, why, and the how people choose to live their lives – the meaning behind words and actions. I also view each client special. I see each person as a sister, brother, auntie, uncle… I care for each client like I am related to them. Becoming a massage therapist was not easy, but it is one of the most rewarding in my life. It took me the first 3-4 years to understand and accept this art, science and therapy. Becoming a massage therapists and business owner has changed my life for the better. I believe, and so I hear from my clients, their appreciation of my work is something magical, healing, and a gift to give others. I truly honor this path and I believe my clients can feel the Divine since it is from the Divine I am able to do what I do.

Alright, so for those in our community who might not be familiar with your business, can you tell us more?
CJoyceHeart Therapeutic Massage was established in 2017. I am most proud of myself for the courage, resilience, unconditional love and dedication I have put into my work. It was not easy. I meant to start the business two years earlier in 2015. I was fighting the calling. It took 2 years to get over myself, and finally during a yoga meditation in the middle of the night, the epiphany of the logo came to me spiritually – and it’s almost -I had no choice. I even cried. And for the lessons along the way, there are so many! Main lessons I’ll share is to love one another, care for another, take care of your own self, and be kind to yourself and others. Oh yes – and do a big exhale, breathe, and make time for your mind-body-spirit to just be….

What I want the world to know about me, my brand and my story….is that I will continue to do what I do, share what I know as long as I am able. I am thankful for all the people who knows me personally and professionally, and for those who will get to know me and more of my story to come…

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
Oh wow. a week long trip! I will list my ideas, and will always leave room for adventure. I’m lucky, my best friend live nearby!

I would take my best friend to the Huntington Gardens and Museum. I have a membership there and gets to bring a friend. A late lunch at Borneo. And dessert and coffee at Urth Cafe.
Other days, would be a beach day, a stroll, ice cream, lounge, reading a book, meditation, and play..
So many things to do here in Southern California.
What matters is the person you’re with and anything can be made fun and full of meaning.

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
My shoutout goes too my best friend, Sofi because she’s the greatest friend that anyone can ask for.
