Meet Arkazul

We had the good fortune of connecting with Arkazul and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Carlos, any advice for those thinking about whether to keep going or to give up?
Well, this is a really hard question. It’s not easy to know that, but when you want to achieve something you work hard every day to make it, obviously sometimes you want to throw it all away and give up, but you keep working. Maybe is that “like”, that “follow” or that comment from people that gives you strength to continue. Some years ago I left music, I stopped playing guitar. It was a really hard time because I moved to another country and it wasn’t easy to continue, but after a little time thinking about what I wanted, I started making music, writing and playing again. It’s that felling that moves you to do what you want to do and don’t give up. I don’t see myself in the future doing something other than music.

Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
One of the things we always like to think is to staying true to what we love to do. I think that is what sets up apart from really good music and all the noise out there. We always seek to express our feelings in every song we write and record, because it doesn’t matter how bad is your day going, when you think about your music, and that somehow it can help others that’s enough to continue making music. Doing what you really love from the bottom of your heart and giving everything to make others days better, that’s all that matters. No, it wasn’t! If you want to do something really significative for you and leave a mark in the world, in the people, undoubtedly you have to know that you have to make some sacrifices. Sleeping late, practicing a lot. You have to learn new stuff all the time. The time In real life is something that is running and don’t stop and maybe while others go to party, vacations o watch tv after work, you have to rehearse, study, record a new song or make a concert. At the end of the day you learn that every sacrifice you’ve done, it has become in what you are today, that everything what you’ve worked for has taken you to where you are right now, and you are that version of you. Thanks to all the time you’ve fell in the way, you got up and tell yourself “it’s ok, this was not the right time” but while you were down you were thinking in new ways to make it. You discover that even if it’s not the real or correct path, you can learn from that experience. If at the end if each day you didn’t learn something new, you can realize that if you continue in that path you won’t get where you want to get. In the seek of being authentic, you have to find yourself, break yourself, look inside and tell the world “hey I’m here, I not giving up. I will find the strength to get up over and over again to do what I love” If you have something to give to the world, is that they have to develop their talents and do what they love. That would be a challenge, but when you wake up each morning and think about it, you won’t say “Another Sh*tty day. I wish it could be weekend again”, on the contrary, you will say “I know it’s hard, but I will find that new opportunity to make it”.

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
Well, that’s easy, we can take a ride all around the city, visiting some good places like museums, learning about history. Then we can go to a venue to relax a little bit and eat something good. Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
Actually, there is a lot of people that we have to thank, but the most important person is our mother. You don’t know how it can be to have two teenagers playing all the time trying to make or learn a song without knowing how to play. We used to turn on the amplifiers and put the volume up to start making some noise. But wait, not just the guitars, also the drums (laugh). Also, we are where we are thanks to all fans, friends and people that support us every day sharing our music, videos, etc. Without all of them, we wouldn’t be here. Thanks to everyone.
