We had the good fortune of connecting with Carlos Manuel and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Carlos, what was your thought process behind starting your own business?
After spending a dedicated 15 years in the banking industry, I took a leap of faith and decided to venture into the world of entrepreneurship. I’ll admit, leaving behind the familiarity of banking wasn’t a simple decision; the comfort of a stable job had its appeal, and the uncertainties that come with starting something new were hard to ignore. However, the prospect of charting my own course, having the creative freedom to innovate, and the potential for increased financial rewards outweighed my reservations.
I used to have my fair share of concerns about the risks associated with starting a business – the financial ups and downs and the intricate nuances of running an enterprise. Yet, I reshaped those concerns into opportunities for personal and professional development. The empowerment to shape my own brand, the satisfaction of nurturing a business from the ground up, and the excitement of seeing my efforts come to fruition have proven to be incredibly fulfilling. Admittedly, the journey is dotted with challenges, but each successful hurdle reminds me of the immense advantages that come with owning and growing my own venture in Real Estate.
Can you give our readers an introduction to your business? Maybe you can share a bit about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
Real Estate is a tough business, however having over 15 years of experience in finance helps put things into perspective. Being able to guide and prepare clients is really the value I provide. I spent my life assisting people with their financial goals, helping people protect themselves and their families in their financial structures. It only felt right for me to help clients with one of the biggest purchases of their lives. It helps to have a giant crush with midcentury architecture and design. Having a creative eye, and a financial background it only felt natural for me to move into this career.
Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
I love traveling. Although relaxing on a beach is always nice. My preference in travel is to plan an itinerary that gives me a cultural experience, food, culture, and architecture is what I truly love about vacations. Friends who come visit know that they’re in for a culinary treat as I love exploring some of the best hidden gems in the city. I love ambience. Living in California it’s important to give first time visitors typical tourist activités. But the evenings are reserved for amazing dinners. Let’s get the first trip out of the way so we can really enjoy the vacation enjoying the culture.
Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
My partner of over a decade knows me more than anyone. If I had his support, I knew that it would be possible. Having a partner who supports your decision and works with you to create a smart plan to making a change, was extremely important. Although a decision to change careers has to come from you. It’s nice to feel supported. Making sure we had a plan of action helped make quitting my previous career feel less impulsive.
