We had the good fortune of connecting with Carly Steinberg and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Carly, is there a quote or affirmation that’s meaningful to you?
My favorite quote is Ralph Waldo Emerson’s definition of success: “To laugh often and much; to win the respect of intelligent people and the affection of children; to earn the appreciation of honest critics and endure the betrayal of false friends; to appreciate beauty, to find the best in others; to leave the world a bit better, whether by a healthy child, a garden, a redeemed social condition; to know even one life has breathed easier because you have lived. This is to have succeeded.”
There’s so much pressure to be “successful”. I’ve always loved this quote because it reminds me of the important things in life and I try and live by this version of success.
Can you give our readers an introduction to your business? Maybe you can share a bit about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
I am a real estate agent in Los Angeles, so essentially my business is me and what I bring to the table! Whether I am showing properties, hosting open houses, or negotiating deals, I bring my trademark energy, delicious baked goods, and creativity to every interaction. I am more than just a knowledgeable and reliable agent – I am a trusted partner throughout the emotional journey of buying or selling a home. Drawing from my background in influencer marketing and social media, where relationships are pivotal, I always prioritize building lasting connections with clients and maintaining those relationships long after transactions are complete. In fact, I’m still in touch with many of those people today!
My journey in real estate began as an assistant to the seasoned LA agent, Amy Snider. Now a licensed agent on her team, I consider myself fortunate to have her as a mentor who has navigated me through the intricate ropes of the real estate industry. This support has been invaluable as real estate certainly isn’t without its challenges, but having a guiding figure has made all the difference in my perspective.
I’d say one of the biggest challenges I am currently facing is expanding my network. I typically consider myself a homebody, but real estate has forced me to step outside of my comfort zone (and my house). I’ve learned to say “yes” more, and I’ve had some great experiences because of it. It’s hard to meet new people in your twenties, so I’m trying to become more involved in the community and in the things that I love doing – such as singing, baking, pottery, and anything related to dogs!
Aside from my industry knowledge and genuine love for Los Angeles real estate, in an industry driven by relationships, my individuality becomes my most powerful asset. I’m so happy to be in a field of work where I can support people as they navigate one of the biggest transactions in their lives, all while nurturing relationships that extend far beyond the transaction itself.
Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
What a fun questions! I’m sure I’m going to forget some places, but here’s what comes to mind:
Let’s start with food…
– I love sushi, and if we’re going all out we’d go to Sushi by Scratch. Hidden in a speakeasy-type location in Encino, this place is truly an experience. It’s omakase and only seats 10 people at once. It’s nearly impossible to get reservations! Not only is the sushi amazing, but the experience itself is unforgettable.
– Catch Steak LA is maybe the best filet mignon I’ve had. The truffle butter on top is to die for.
– Dan Tana’s for Italian. Yum! And we’d probably have to hit up Craig’s while we’re in the area.
– McConnell’s Ice Cream. Sea salt cream and cookies is so good!
– Alfred Coffee
Ok on to places to go…
– Malibu is my favorite beach in LA. We could go to El Matador or Paradise Cove, and then hit up the country mart for acai bowls. We could even take a hike in Malibu Creek State Park.
– The Getty & The Getty Villa
– Drive on Mulholland and look at the valley
– Brentwood Country Mart / Brentwood Farmers Market
– Century City Mall
– The Grove
– Dodger game
Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
I owe everything I am today to the constant love and support of my amazing parents. They taught me the importance of hard work and equipped me with the tools to strive for success. But amidst all the influencers in my entrepreneurial journey, the one person who has truly impacted me is my fiance, Brian. Seeing him grow his own business has been nothing short of awe-inspiring. His entrepreneurial drive and unwavering determination have shown me firsthand the incredible power of perseverance and the invaluable lessons that come with taking risks to achieve our goals.
