Meet Caroline Kovac | Owner/Principal Design

We had the good fortune of connecting with Caroline Kovac and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Caroline, we’d love to hear more about how you thought about starting your own business?
Having worked with the largest multi family developers, investors and operators for 20+ years, I had great insight into how design outliers outperformed every asset in the market. The bigger the design, the better the performance. I had a yearning for creating the most marketable assets defined by regional desires and that’s when I decided to apply my past knowledge into a design firm that activates and creates communities to improve people’s lives and investors performance.

Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
My career in Multi-Family started in 2001 as a sales agent for a large development firm. I finished college in 2004 from San Diego State University and grew my career in Multi-Family Operations and Asset Management. I supported over 42 development and investment groups in my tenure and helped to increase occupancy and ROI for institutional and private investors. My love for design grew as I became more connected with new development and value add projects. I was inspired by regional attributes and how they pay homage to a cities culture through the lens of art and design. I ensured every design we worked on had its own identity that others could explore and gravitate to. This is the secret sauce to great commercial design and in turn allowed for strong long term success stories for clients. As my career in Multi Family Investment management matured, it became apparent that my talents/passion in design met the needs of the industry and this was my purpose. We have completed over 86 projects in 7.5 years and we continue to store more ideas in our creative arsenal for future use.

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
We would definitely go to Hotel Del Coronado, enjoy a day on a duffy boat in San Diego and visit all the local speakeasies. We may sneak out for some cat yoga and wine tasting in Temecula and relax poolside or in the spa.
