We had the good fortune of connecting with Carrie Cocan and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Carrie, have there been any changes in how you think about work-life balance?
Work life balance had definitely changed. In a good way of learning how to compartmentalize family, work, and personal life. I used to be on a regular schedule the terms were 12 hour shifts 3 days a week, but I always picked up more hours.
So when The IV Girl started I had to become disciplined in the time I give. It was difficult, but you make it happen. Especially when you’re passionate of the product you deliver.
I learned to focus on my priorities: Myself, my family & business.
Definitely not the easiest thing at all, especially after being so devoted to my specialty.
Can you give our readers an introduction to your business? Maybe you can share a bit about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
The IV Girl specializes in IV hydration therapy that helps replenish and revitalize the body. Our commitment to excellence in customer care and safety sets us apart. We prioritize the well-being of our clients by providing mobile services ensuring all treatments are administered by trained medical professionals in the comfort of their own home
What excites us most is the transformative impact we see in our clients’ lives. Whether it’s helping someone recover from illness, boosting energy levels for a busy professional, or aiding in athletic recovery, the immediate benefits of IV hydration therapy are tangible and gratifying.
The journey to where the IV girl is today hasn’t been without its challenges. Starting and growing a specialized wellness business comes with its own set of hurdles in building a loyal customer base in a competitive market. There were lots of struggles from talking to lawyers, doctors, vendors etc, as well as being a nurse in California you can’t own your own practice individually. I found a DR with the same vision and was able to make it happen.I had to learn from ground zero on how to open up a practice and follow all regulations. I did all this while still maintaining my skills in the hospital working full time..Overcoming these challenges required persistence, adaptability, and a deep understanding of our clients’ needs.
Key lessons I’ve learned include the importance of continuous education and staying abreast of medical advancements. We’ve also honed our ability to effectively communicate the benefits of IV therapy while dispelling any misconceptions. Building trust with our clients has been paramount; transparency and honesty about what we offer and how it can benefit them have been crucial in establishing long-term relationships.
As for what we want the world to know about our brand, it’s my unwavering dedication to enhancing our clients’ well-being through safe, effective, and personalized IV hydration therapies. We’re not just a service provider; we’re a partner in our clients’ journey towards bettering their health and vitality.
Our story is one of passion for wellness, a commitment to professionalism, and a belief in the power of proactive health maintenance. We’re excited about the future as we continue to innovate, expand our offerings, and positively impact more lives through our services.
Thank you for your interest in learning more about us. We look forward to continuing to serve our community and contributing to a healthier, more vibrant future for all our clients.
If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
I recently have moved to Huntington Beach. I would say it is one of the BEST cities in Southern California. The diversity and availability to the beach location, events,
Living here is like waking up every day in a postcard. The first thing you notice is the beach air.
Anytime I have visitors the first place i take them is to Main Street.
Main Street is full of life any day of the week. I would first of all start off the morning at Philz Coffee on Pacific Coast HWY in Huntington. The selections of coffee and breakfast are a hit, followed by having a beautiful view of the ocean. This is one of my favorite spots since it is so accessible to walk to the ocean if you just want to take a seat on the ocean. In the afternoon heading down to the beach and pier by spending time looking at local shops such as Jacks Surfboard. Another thing I have done with friends is rent a beach cruiser and enjoy the crips beach air and view. Lastly, I would the end the day at two specific places. Freds restaurant or Duke’s. Freds has a great 2nd level view of the ocean where you can overview the ocean. Whereas, Duke’s is ocean front. Both are great spots to catch a front-row view of the sunset.
The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
I am beyond ecstatic to be featured.
I have worked my way up to where I am now. As a nurse starting a business there are many obstacles and a lot more turnarounds than expected. I have been taking 10 steps forward and 5 back. But this is all apart of the journey of growth, knowledge, and success. I would have have to great credit to four specific individuals: Camelia Cocan (Mother), Dr. Shadi Kazourra, Emma Birlea & Casey Farcas
I had an ambitious dream and they helped it happen. All have been resources to one thing or another… Weather that be faith, understanding, & patience. They have been a great team that I have relied on during this process of my business in growth.
