We had the good fortune of connecting with Cassidy Naber and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Cassidy, any advice for those thinking about whether to keep going or to give up?
As someone who has been in the entertainment industry for a long time, I’ve gotten burnt out many times. This industry is brutal, to say the least, Something that has always kept me going has been to think about that little girl who would never want me to give up. I would never wanna disappoint her because I know how hard she’s worked from a very young age. I know that I can’t live without dance or acting so giving up just isn’t an option for me.

Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
There are many people who are in this industry going up against each other so you have to find what can set you apart from the rest. For me, what sets me apart from other kids my age is the fact that I finished school at 15 years old. I’m 16 now but when I finished school I was only 15. Because of that, I’m considered legal 18. This gives me and the production a lot more freedom when working on set because there are not as many restrictions when you can work as a legal adult. That’s why most high school students on tv are played by adults and not real kids in high school. Most casting directors will only hire either legal 18 or adults so having the “legal 18 card” in my back pocket really does set me apart.

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
I live in the Los Angeles area and many come here to see Hollywood and try to meet celebrities. Hate to break it to you but Hollywood is not what you think. Celebs aren’t ever really roaming around the streets of Hollywood and Hollywood is honestly always overcrowded and kinda scary to be honest. Definitely don’t recommend going there alone. If you do want to go to Hollywood, a cuter spot that most people my age enjoy is melrose ave. There are many cute shops and there’s also something called The Melrose Trading Post that is open during the day on Sunday. If you like vintage clothing or supporting small businesses, you’ll love The Melrose Trading Post. Good luck with parking through. If you came here for beaches and a pretty view, there’s a great restaurant on its own private beach which is called paradise cove. You will love it, promise.

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
I’ve been blessed to have so many influential instructors and mentors who have supported me from the beginning and have made me the artist I am today. There are honestly way too many important people in my life to shout out and I don’t wanna forget anyone so I’ll just say that you know who you are and I appreciate all of the love and knowledge you’ve given me over the years.
