We had the good fortune of connecting with Celina Sasso and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Celina, what’s the end goal, career-wise?
By the time I’m older, wiser, and wrinkly, I want to leave the legacy of allowing myself and others to feel deeply and entirely. Whether that’s through my composition, my words, delivery or all three. Through covers and originals. I aspire to be my most authentic self in everything I do. Music has helped me express everything. However my work is interpreted, is up to the listener. I’m the happiest sharing my stories and what’s below the surface through song, and I would only hope it lives on.
Please tell us more about your work. We’d love to hear what sets you apart from others, what you are most proud of or excited about. How did you get to where you are today professionally. Was it easy? If not, how did you overcome the challenges? What are the lessons you’ve learned along the way. What do you want the world to know about you or your brand and story?
I’m sure I can speak for so many, if not all creatives, when I say we carry an unhealthy amount of stubbornness when trying to succeed in our passions. Such as refusing to abide by the norms, not taking no for an answer, burning ourselves out, relentlessness, and everything else in between. To an extent, I don’t think we’re wrong in doing so. It has never been an easy ride and I don’t think it’ll get any easier. Only manageable. Challenges and lessons are inevitable. It’s all apart of our growth and it will help us actually see what does and what doesn’t serve us so we can put our energy into something better and worth our time. This is where I am in my path right now. I’m so proud of it and so so excited for what will be coming my way because of this new sense of awareness. It’s hard to stick to that mindset. Especially for creatives, because we feel deeply and as humans do, we have our doubts, but i’ve noticed, without the delusional and insane amount of hope we’re capable of having, along with any ounce of security in ourselves, we wouldn’t be doing the thing! I’m proud of that. We have control and direction in what we want to do. That’s a gift.
Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
There’s so much to see in Las Vegas from shows, nature sightings, bars, exhibits, attractions, art scenes, etc. I’ll always recommend to check out any local and off-strip shows and venues! Majestic Repertory Theatre, Lost Spirits Distillery, The Mob Museum, Fremont Street, are just a few places I wouldn’t want anyone to miss! You can never go wrong with a stroll around Downtown Las Vegas and bar hop different themed bars. Entertainment is everywhere.
Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
I wouldn’t be where I am now without the endless love and support I receive from my family. They’re the foundation and the backbone to all I have accomplished so far. I also have a ton of support from my music family in Las Vegas. I’m immensely grateful to have a platform in my hometown along with many musicians out there who are working and striving for the same thing.
