We had the good fortune of connecting with Ceo Badley and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Ceo, we’d love to hear more about how you thought about starting your own business?
I come from a place that has very limited access to resources of all kind. People are depressed, out of hope, and desperately in need of a way to survive. I chose to utilize my skills and learnings to create a brand that educates and entertains simultaneously. I had to provide an outlet for those that feel left behind in society. I needed to create and become the premier resource of information that is geared towards independent entrepreneurs and creatives in my region.

Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
I started as an artist long before I even knew what an artist was. I remember, as a young child, laying in bed making up songs at night. Currently, my niche that separates me from others is my ability and willingness to act my age. Most artists try to sound like whatever is popular or mimic the kids music. I am no child and my music isnt geared towards the kids. I created a brand that is known as ‘Grown Folks Music.’ I’ve spent years travelling the country, soaking up real life experiences and inadvertently those experiences impacted my music. I own a few creative driven businesses, my magazine, recoring studio, festival promotions, and also a production company. Nothing came easily. It took a lifetime of failures and lessons learned to achieve a sliver of success. The biggest lesson I’ve learned along the way is to trust myself, my intuition, and to move on a plan immediately. Waiting only creates a failed project. Study your environment and stick to what makes you..YOU, instead of focusing on what you believe is a common way to profit. As of today, I have national music/cannabis festivals in the works. I’ve been able to employ many people. My music is a different level of excellence. My magazine was growing faster than I thought it ever could until Covid hit. Due to supply chain issues, we had to shut it down and focus on other projects. We have just recently begun the process of a major Re-launch backed by some surprising sponsors. The brand is all encompassing of all my business ventures. I was a heavy cannabis user the majority of my adult life and decided to base all I do around the cannabis concept. LOUD n’ HEAVY MEDIA is the brand, which evolved into retail stores and everything else I ended up creating. I took the aspect of my life that some considered a negative and made it into a powerful positive force in my existence.

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
Actually, I’m not much of an in-town person. I like to work on building my brand and expanding my business interests while I’m in Cleveland. However, if one came to see me for a week, we would eat and grab drinks at places like Cleveland Chop, Sausalito, Texas de Brazil, Otanis, Avo, Zanzibar, Wasabi, Bourbon Street Barrel Room, and Carolyn’s Exotic Cuisines. There are usually events or concerts at one of the stadiums downtown. Afterwards we would take a flight.
