We had the good fortune of connecting with Cesar D La Torre and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Cesar, how has your background shaped the person you are today?
I was born in Maracaibo Venezuela, I think who I am today it is because of my past and my background, when you have a hard past you appreciate more things you achieve, you become stronger everyday and that is what happened to me , I think I am not the same, I am stronger now, My past did such an impact on me that I fight harder to reach my goals and dreams, and never give up.
Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
I am a Latin Actor with European Background, for me the art of acting is beautiful, I love to to act and play different roles, for me it is the most gifted talent that I can Have, being and feel other people on my body, portraying other characters feels incredible, and every one of them leave something positive on me, I can tell you, I can learn always something for my personal life with every character I have done. My career spans across both English and Spanish markets, currently I Have worked on movies like Lapham Rising opposite the legendary Academy Award Actor Frank Langella, the action film Muna centered around a confrontation between Italian and Nigerian mafia gangs. The film Heavy Duty Lovers (Amores de Peso) a romantic comedy which stars Eric Roberts. The film Misfits (Krista Allen, Leigh-Allyn Baker), which is about four broke and single geeks who hire a life coach to help turn their lives around, Black Easter a Sci Fi Movie about a group of young geniuses accidentally stumble upon a secret terrorist plot to create a time machine to go back in time and change history available on Amazon prime Video and other Digital Platforms.
I have been part of some noteworthy projects. like Tecate Commercial with Bruce Willis, also I have made guest appearances on the TBS sitcom Ground Floor (Skylar Astin, Briga Heelan, John C McGinley), TV Land’s Funny-or-Die-based series Throwing Shade (Will Ferrell) and Logo TV’s DTLA (Melanie Griffith, Sandra Bernhard, Jeremy Jackson). Also I was co-director/writer, as well as an actor in the short film The Florist, which has been nominated for ‘Best Dramatic Short’ and ‘Best Short Film’ in the Burbank International Film Festival.
Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
I would take him for a Road trip to different places I love, one of my favorite is the Yosemite Park, Malibu Beach, San Francisco, also I love Catalina Island. I would go to eat in Lalas restaurant for a weekend, drink wine in santa barbara. and some Sushi at Hiroyuki.
The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
I think to my mother who has always been supportive, and she believed in me from the beginning of my career. she gave me a great education and good habits for me to be the person I am today.
