Meet Cesar Neves | Musical Artist

We had the good fortune of connecting with Cesar Neves and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Cesar, we’d love to hear about how you approach risk and risk-taking
Anytime I think about the word risk I always think of sacrifice. Pursuing music as a career alone was a big risk but no one ever talks about that sacrifices.
Life is full of ups and downs and regardless of what happens. Life just goes on. The world doesn’t stop to wait when things are hard. I had to learn to work through hardships and sacrifice a lot get to the position I am in today. Spending time with family, relationships, friendships and even personal time becoming more and more limited as the more practice gets put into my craft. Losing sleep over studio sessions. Working my regular day job day in and day out, to damn near spend my entire check at the studio to make sure the quality and content is up to par. I took my music extremely serious and the only way I was able to do so was making sacrifices
With that, it taught me to manage my time better. Trying to build better relationships with those in my life that I’ve gone distant bc of my time spent creating. The support from a distance is amazing but the in person contact is everything. Connecting with people is everything. It’s life!

Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
My music is everything about myself into sounds. Every bit of emotion is translated to the music. I am very intentional when I create as well and I love to tell a story and create an atmosphere through the production that will best convey whatever I feel like it in that moment!
My music particularly has its own pocket /genre bc I blend a few genres to create my own comfort zone. my most recent work is my personal take on a pop album. It’s called “Heartbreaks and Remedies” and it is very raw. Emotional. Gritty. A roller coaster of feelings that everyone can relate to. I’m extremely proud of myself for this. It was a long and hard journey. It was also emotionally taxing on myself. Deep diving into my inner child and having those uncomfortable conversations with myself and family. Trying to accept myself for who I am while also forgiving myself and my past/forgiving those who may have caused me pain in the past. A big takeaway from creating this album was being able to be at peace. Learning that if I start healing myself from within, nothing in this world can stop me.

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
When they arrive depending on the time… we are either going straight to a tiki bar in Boston off of state street or we are going to get some burritos from Felipes in Harvard Sq, Cambridge! They are amazing and the best burritos ever
So on a morning- I’d immediately would take them to my favorite place to get brunch (if it’s a brunch day lol) Citrus and salt near Back Bay in Boston. I loveee that place. The food and the vibes are immaculate.
Alright because I need to be responsible, the rest of the food will be dealt with at home lolllll, can’t be eating out all the time, gotta save the money and prioritize!
If I just so happen to have a studio session during the time they are here, I would 1,000% take them to the studio with me and show them where I create.
Boston is overall such a beautiful place and I would walk around the commons, around seaport and go over the bridge to Cambridge and walk everywhere there because the MBTA is super convenient and can get us anywhere within the city.
Being able to walk is a plus because there’s so much to see I wouldn’t be able to fit it in this!
Also, shoutout to the Charles river! There’s so much to do along the river I LOVE it- I also would take them to walk along the river and just hang out bc when the weather is nice, it’s a perfect place to just hang.

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
I’d love to shoutout my guy’s Alex Arlos and Norman Garcia aka the goat Hassel G! These two have been there since I started creating music and I’ve been beyond blessed to be on this journey with them! They’ve been nothing but supportive and loving/caring. They also provide that voice of reason whenever I’m out of it! Everyone needs people like them in their lives!
