We had the good fortune of connecting with Chanel Minnifield and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Chanel, what habits do you feel play an important role in your life?
Deadlines! Deadlines! Deadlines! Having deadlines has been the number one key to my success. It is so important to create a road map for yourself and give everything a deadline, so you can stay accountable and on track. I didn’t always use this technique of deadlines within my career and for many years I always felt like I wasn’t accomplishing anything. At that time I would describe myself as being on a treadmill, because I was doing a lot of things… I just wasn’t getting those things done. I can remember a time when it was the beginning of the year and I was writing down my goals, and I remember putting FINISH in front of all of my old goals. I remember telling my self that I wasn’t going to write down any new goals until I finished the many that I wrote down in years previously. I learned in that year to be an efficient finisher you must have a plan of action and that plan of action must have deadlines for everything. When I started working within a system of deadlines I started seeing finish lines, accomplishments, and I felt lighter. I felt as though I didn’t have this hug rock, called success, in front of me that I had to figure out someway to climb. Instead, I had small pebbles that I had to reach then move out of that way that all led up to me reaching many many finish lines. Having deadlines is a great habit to adopt, and I encourage everyone to create your road maps, make deadlines and become a finisher of goals and an accomplisher of dreams!

Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
I am the host of a new millennial cooking show called Yes! That’s Vegan! It premiered April 5th, 2021 on a new streaming platform that is creating a lot of noise in the industry, Taste on TV! You can catch my show on Roku TV channel Taste on TV every Monday night at 8PM EST and PST. Yes! That’s Vegan! got its name due to everyone always asking me the absurd question, “Is that Vegan?…” And I would answer with my [now] slogan “It’s always Vegan!” On the show I bring on other millennial and gen-z type guests, most of them are not vegan, onto the show as a guest and have them assist in making a vegan dish. The show is about unveiling secret tips and tricks on how to turn any traditional dish vegan, and to show how easy it is to eat Vegan / to have healthier options. I am advocate for healthy living, healthy choices, and stepping outside of comfort zones. Which is a reflection to my non-traditional cooking show format, because my guest and I are doing more than just cooking in the kitchen… we are also learning tiktok dances, having rap battles and more while the food is cooking! I want to encourage a generation to give Veganism a try!

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
Definitely hanging out with me on set as I film an episode of Yes! That’s Vegan! Because you will have the best vegan experience your taste buds will ever have, but remember your taste buds can also have the best vegan experience virtually anytime by tuning in to Roku TV channel Taste on TV every Monday at 8PM EST and PST!

I would also recommend us just tuning into Taste on TV on Roku TV for the rest of the eek, because there are great cooking shows on at all times of the day that are so much fun to watch, educational, and entertaining! I don
t see any better way to spend a weekend!! Taste on TV can also be viewed [if you don’t have Roku TV] at www.tasteontv.com Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
I want to dedicate my shoutout to my whole inner circle! My inner circle is everyone who has believed in me, lifted me up, and kept me believing in myself! First of all, I am a spiritual gal, so I believe that I wouldn’t be anywhere without God and His abundant love, grace, and blessings over my life! I want to shoutout my family, for always keeping my accountable and focused. I want to shout out my representation team: my managers Peter Kluge and Terra Weiler over at Impact Artists Group for always believing in me and encouraging me to create my own opportunities in the entertainment industry! I want to shout out my amazing PR, J. Phillips, the best mentor in the world, Tommy Morgan Jr., and my production team who brings my whole show together, Ohio Ave. Productions. And lastly, I want to shout out Terance Quilens Sr., the president of Taste on TV, for seeing the talent in me and giving me chance to shine on his network! Without everyones equal efforts I definitely would not be where I am today. It takes a village to do anything, and this my village (also known as my inner circle)!
