We had the good fortune of connecting with CHANICE WARD and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi CHANICE, what’s the most important thing you’ve done for your children?
Teaching my children the importance of commitment, empathy, and service to others is not only beneficial for their personal development but also for the world around them. Children who learn to show concern and consideration for others, to be compassionate, and respect both people and the environment tend to grow into well rounded, responsible adults. These lessons, often more effectively taught by example than just words, can have a lasting impact on their character and worldview.

Can you give our readers an introduction to your business? Maybe you can share a bit about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
Keeping Konnected Inc, Mission Statement is to help underprivileged groups of Individuals and Families who are struggling to regain stability and self-sufficiency in their lives by providing an array of services including transitional housing, mental health support and a safe environment with structure through one of our many programs. KKI provides supportive employment services to adults with developmental and intellectual disabilities ages 18-65. We also have many other supportive services, mentoring programs, social services and a plethora of resources and referrals. What I am most proud of is someone very close and special to me shared this blessing with me, I learned the program and with God’s help and great staff which started as family based KKI was born. It was easy and hasn’t been easy KKI’s great success and achievements were during March of 2020. With all the challenges and changes that suddenly effected the world around us, we managed to stay grounded and continued to give 100% of ourselves to provide outstanding service to our participants. It hasn’t been easy at all, but I’ve learned a great deal of patience and how to trust your heart, I never quit or gave up on my staff or the people that I needed to serve. No one was turned away. It’s always been important to me to tell people how important and valued they are, without my staff and the people we service we are nothing. My motto is ” We speak up for those who can’t for themselves” But through the years it has changed to us encourage and support those who can’t speak up or struggle with standing up for themselves and what they feel is best for them. What I want the world to know about this brand and story? Anyone can be and have whatever is your dream or heart’s desire, there is nothing impossible if your work hard, connect with the right people and never give up. Believe in yourself. It has been a privilege and honor to have been given the opportunity to help others in need and bring a smile to someone’s face as we extend our hand of hope and resources.

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
My favorite spot is the beach, any beach where the sun is out, bright and warm, the ocean and waves crashing loud. Walking along the shore feet in the sand, while the water splashes across your toes cooling them off from the burning sand. Enjoying the great restaurants of your choosing, fresh seafood and a steak dinner at Houston Restaurant El Segundo or maybe Eddie V’s or Maestro in Malibu., Ending the night with a delicious and refreshing ice cream and waffle cone bowl from Cold Stones.

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
Well first and foremost I am a woman of faith so shout out to God, for giving me the heart and vision for the people that we service every day. Secondly, my family… my Husband, all of my adult children Aaron, Tabora Jr, and my sisters Whatana and Tina who are my best friends who believed in me as this story came alive. Last but not least, B.A.R.E. Truth (J. Bradford III) Deborah Neal, Catherine Collier-Edwards, Arvetta Outlaw, Teresa Vaoga, Robert Rhinehart, Lyle Edwards, “B.J.” “Wings of Wisdom” and our HR Support “The Dream Team” Crystal, Jazper, Destiny and Christina…..
