We had the good fortune of connecting with Charlie Hardt and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Charlie, why did you pursue a creative career?
I pursued a career in music because I have always believed it was a God given call and purpose, and our purpose often lies within the greatest attacks against our lives. For me, there was a deep rooted fear of singing in front of people and using my voice to tell my story to inspire or relate to others. Once I realized that my voice was a gift and unique to me, I no longer sought validation from the world and that gave me the freedom to pursue my greatest passion as a career without fear. I believe we all have gifts that were given to us to use for a higher purpose than to bring glory to ourselves.
Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
It isn’t easy at all being an independent artist, especially in a male dominated industry. But I believe what sets me apart is the vision of purpose. When you walk in purpose, even the greatest obstacles you can be sure are shaping you for your good.
Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
Most definitely the beaches- I am a nature girl so get me outside in the Cali sun and it’s a blast. I spend most of my time at Fearless LA, where I sing weekly. You can’t go wrong with Mexican food, catch me at every food truck and hole in the wall. I live in Hollywood, so the night life is popping around me.
Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
My parents undoubtedly deserve my shoutout. They have supported me, encouraged me, prayed for me, lifted me up and pointed me to God through out my whole life, never missing a single show or performance, and never failing to love me and lead me in truth to be the woman I am today.
