We had the good fortune of connecting with Charlie Scola Aka PartyCharlie and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Charlie Scola aka PartyCharlie, what was your thought process behind starting your own business?
Starting My Own Business After Working at the Town & Campus Hotel & Banquest in West Orange NJ, as mentioned earlier Being the Youngest Manager the Three Hotels Banquet center I was ready to Grow and take a chance. Yes, I was a Bit Sacred leaving a Weekly Paycheck and Amazing Tips/Gratuities.
During my Work at T&C (Town & Campus) I learned so much.
Starting your own business is always a leap of faith I did my research at on days off and early in the morning calling everyone I know who owned a business. I even consulted with the owner of the 3 Hotel Banquet Centers My Bob Koby who Knew Everyone in Political being T&C was a location that all Politicians would campaign for thousands of their supporters
OK~! Ready, at 23 three strange as it was the actual purchase of the ownership of the restaurant with a Disco Lounge, Dining room, and two banquet halls happened the day of my 23rd birthday.
I worked 16 hours a day. Some days 18 Hours. Tragedy strikes on Monday around 5am in the morning I received a call from the fire department on a Monday the day we were closed. Your restaurant is on fire. Hopping out of bed leaving without saying a word to my girlfriend I drove to the restaurant. Smoke filling the air tears filled my eyes. What do I do Now We were underinsured I LOST EVERYTHING

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
The Magic Castle in Hollywood, My Friends are on the Board of Directors. This is a Must see. You need to know a magician or a member to get in being it’s a private club. The Hollywood Sign. Downtown LA Philippe’s French Dip is a must. . The Beverly Hills Hotel Pols Lounge. and Rodeo Drive.

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
Early in my life the owner of the T&C was a true Mentor. Then in California I met Marc Gurvits who would help skyrocket my businesses beyond my expectations. Marc Gurvitz was a Talent manager, Executive Producer with Celebrity Contacts unlike anyone in Hollywood. Marc Recommended me to all of his clients, and I Exceeded his expectations with food, Planning and Service. the referrals rolled in. Years Later I Met Frank Woodward. Owner of “For Stars Catering” Franks company focused of Motion Pictures Crew, Production Staff and YES, all the Stars. Frank was connected with Francise Ford Coppola. Frank also Provided Catering service for Every Movie for Tom Cruise starting with the 1983 Movie Risky Business until his retirement. I was His Social Caterer/Planner. Frank focus was Crew Catering While I focused on social catering, we finished up with the 2011 movie We Bought a Zoo Staring Matt Damon for 500 People
Today, Frank and Marc are Still in my Life. Bob Koby Passed away.
Thier Mentorship was invaluable. Thier Positive Mentorship I carry with me to this day. I am Sucess because of them.
