Meet Chase Alexis | Dancer & Singer

We had the good fortune of connecting with Chase Alexis and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Chase, what led you to pursuing a creative path professionally?
I’ve always known I was meant for a creative career—it’s who I am at my core. From a young age, creativity shaped my identity. I couldn’t sit still; I was constantly dancing to Janet Jackson or singing my heart out to Cheetah Girls songs. My creative vision began long before I could fully grasp what it would mean in adulthood.
Now, at 25 and navigating life as an adult (well, somewhat, lol), I’ve realized how vital it is to stay aligned with that version of myself. Honoring the passions of that little girl keeps me grounded and fulfilled. If I’m not living through her, then I’m not truly living. Creativity and artistic expression are not just what I do—they’re what I am and will always be.

Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
My journey in this industry has been anything but easy—and truthfully, it still isn’t. It’s a constant battle to stay afloat while maintaining both my confidence and mindset. The industry can be harsh, even downright toxic at times, making it a challenge to hold onto those things. But my unwavering love for the arts has been my anchor. Without it, I might have walked away long ago.
I’ve faced countless doubters—people who said I couldn’t or wouldn’t make it. Yet here I am, still rising, because I know my worth and my potential. The hardest part has been trusting in myself, even when the odds feel stacked against me.
Right now, I’m most excited about starting a new chapter in my career as a singer. For the first time in my 25 years, I’m putting singing at the forefront of my priorities. Dance has always been my focus, but I’m ready to fully embrace this passion and pour into it. I’m thrilled to release my first song and music video this year, and I hope the world connects with the depth of my humanity through my music.
At the end of the day, I’m just human—simple as that. I love deeply, and I pour that love into everything I do. My hope is that anyone who experiences my art feels that love too.

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
I’d start by taking them to Bay Cities for one of the most delicious sandwiches in town. From there, we’d cruise down PCH to Malibu for a relaxing beach day, soaking up the sun and enjoying the ocean breeze. For dinner, I’d take them to Kazan for the best ramen—it’s truly a game-changer! Afterward, we could catch a movie or find something equally fun and laid-back to do.
LA has so much to offer, from its natural beauty to its endless opportunities for simple, fun adventures. One of my favorite things about this city is how active it is—you can always find a unique way to move your body, like taking a fun fitness class. Hot yoga is definitely my favorite—it’s such a great way to recharge and unwind!

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
I pour my heart and soul into my family, boyfriend, and close friends. While I’ve received support from various places along the way, they’ve been my constant pillars, lifting me up when I fall and standing by me through it all. Asking for help or letting others in when I’m struggling has never been easy for me, yet they somehow always manage to lift me higher.
If it weren’t for Debbie Allen Dance Academy, I wouldn’t be the dancer I am today. If it weren’t for DC Dance Center, I wouldn’t have the deep love for dance that fuels me. And if it weren’t for legends like Janet Jackson, Mariah Carey, and Teena Marie, I wouldn’t have the passion for performance and singing that drives me. These influences, combined with the love and support of those closest to me, are the key ingredients in the beautifully chaotic and loving recipe that is me.
