Meet Chaynce Henderson | American Actor & Director

We had the good fortune of connecting with Chaynce Henderson and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Chaynce, what matters most to you?
To me, perseverance is the most important principle. I have experienced many failures in my life, and sometimes those failures seem to overshadow all my achievements. I have learned that we often allow our failures to steal the spotlight that our achievements deserve. My sole hope is to accomplish something substantial in this life. My goal is to leave a mark on history, however small or big it may be based on what I can achieve. The greatest individuals who have impacted the world are often those who overcame the most significant obstacles. It cannot be denied that my current self and situation are the results of my determination not to give up. Successful people inspire me,not just for their final results but also for their journeys, which reveal them as ordinary human beings before they are recognized as extraordinary by society. There are times I wish I could rewind and change some choices, but regardless of what happens, I look forward and use my mistakes as templates for addressing new challenges. Allowing failure to frustrate me would be, in itself, an act of self-destruction. Failure is inevitable, success may not always be, that principle is what keeps me on my feet.

Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
Honestly, my art is the art of acting itself. What sets me apart is that I am truly myself. There will never be another Chaynce who is an exact replica of me and my unique story on this earth. It’s something I will forever cherish and embrace throughout my acting career. I’m proud to be part of Hollywood, pursuing the dream that many in Los Angeles are chasing. It’s undeniably challenging and incredibly competitive. What I’ve learned is that this industry often hinges on a mix of luck and a sprinkle of talent. However, what is meant to be will always find its way.

What I want the world to know is that I am eager to become one of your future Oscar winners. Keep your aspirations alive, and witness how far you’ll go to make them a reality.

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
Definitely Malibu—my favorite beach there is Point Dume. I promise I won’t gatekeep; I’ll share the spot. Any good mountain hike is always enjoyable, as are the snow-capped mountains in California. Lake Tahoe is a favorite too. My best friends and I have made the greatest memories at all these places. Any place with nature is the vibe for me.

I’d also take them to the dining halls at UCLA, where BPlate and De Neve will truly change your life. And maybe we attend the live taped audience of Jimmy Kimmel to hear celebrities open up about their lives and success stories.

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
So many people have truly inspired me and supported me through the most challenging times of my life that the list of names would be infinite, making it impossible to pinpoint just one. My mother holds my entire heart. My brilliant sister and best friend, Naye. My hardworking dad. My closest friends: the exceptionally talented Matthew, Tristan, who is my industry idol, Akouavi, one of the smartest people I know, Mikayla, who is my life’s true inspiration, and Kohl, a character I have always looked up to. I love you all so much. My best friends are my greatest motivation. Any success I achieve will forever be dedicated to each of you. Another special shoutout to you, Kohl, for this.
