We had the good fortune of connecting with Chaz Pringle and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Chaz, can you walk us through the thought-process of starting your business?
The intention behind starting C. Pringle Consulting LLC was to champion and support Black-owned businesses that needed innovative strategies to achieve sustained success. For instance, SKNMUSE had a great product and decent exposure before I joined the team. After experiencing the product and engaging with the CEO to understand the brand’s morals, values, and roadmap, I knew I was the right person to amplify their message and drive partnerships and public relations. Many underrepresented businesses operate as a one-person show or with a very nimble team. I believe in the power of collaboration and partnerships, and hiring the right industry expert can alleviate unnecessary stress, save a business money and time, and help make significant leaps forward.

What should our readers know about your business?
What sets me apart from other consultants or businesses is my unique approach to understanding a business or solving problems. I take the time to actively listen and thoroughly examine the business to ensure there aren’t any unseen gaps that need attention. I achieve this by bringing my whole self to the table and staying true to the company’s morals and values.

As a disruptive leader, I think and strategize outside the box, aiming high and aligning the strategy with a comprehensive plan that supports all KPIs. I take great pride in the tenacity that I and my peers have demonstrated in this challenging economy. The last two years have been tough for emerging businesses as we’ve dealt with inflation and now DEI budget cuts, forcing us business leaders to re-strategize without losing sight of the long-term goals.

How did you get to where you are today business-wise. Was it easy? If not, how did you overcome the challenges?

I got to this place in my career by being curious about various industries, traveling, and networking. Moving to NYC at eighteen for college, I quickly became obsessed with learning about culture, business, and travel. I promised myself I would intern in every department possible within fashion to understand how these materials create such a significant business. This same curiosity led me to work in London and, after eleven years in NYC, take a leap of faith and transition to Los Angeles. My leadership and extensive experience in fashion, entertainment, and beauty have equipped me with a diverse set of transferable skills. It has not been an easy journey, nor is it supposed to be, but I’ve learned the art of pauses, pivots, and the blessing of saying no when my morals are being compromised.

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
As a transplant in the Los Angeles Metro area for three years, I’ve come to cherish my Saturdays. I love starting my day at the gym, working up a good sweat, followed by a refreshing session in the sauna or steam room. By 10 am, I’m at the flower district, curating a bouquet or two for my apartment and resisting the temptation to buy another plant (though I have a soft spot for birds of paradise). After arranging my new floral art, I head to Hilltop DTLA for lunch; their Buenos Dias bowl with chicken and shrimp is always a hit. My afternoon often involves shopping in the Arts District, exploring Dover Street Market and other boutique shops. If time allows, I wrap up the day with a delightful dinner at Girl & the Goat, Bottega Louie, or Manuela.

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
In this season of my life, both personally and professionally, I have to shout out my team of supporters. These amazing superheroes were the first to encourage and even invest in me when I decided to launch my own business. They seamlessly allow me the creative freedom to explore all facets of my dreams while holding me accountable to my foundation. I wouldn’t be able to navigate the industries I do with grace and ease without them. I truly believe you don’t need many people, but if you have the chance to have a solid team of five like I do, I promise life will be worth living.
