Meet Cherry Cho | Digital Creator & Future Dessert Cafe Owner

We had the good fortune of connecting with Cherry Cho and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Cherry, what led you to pursuing a creative path professionally?
I pursued an artistic or creative career because I am not someone who likes to stay still or do routine tasks. I enjoy challenges, learning new things, and meeting diverse people. I love traveling and came to the United States to explore the world and meet new faces. I don’t believe I have any special talent as an artist, but I continue to pursue it because it brings me joy. I don’t see it as a special talent, but rather as a key to sustaining this career. My goal is to inspire at least one person and make a positive impact on others. This is what I want my career and future to be all about.

Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
I am currently just a student, but ever since coming to the United States, I have been striving to work as a digital creator. I am not sure if l am good at it, but I am consistently working on it. I may not be a professional artist, but I believe I have a creative side. I enjoy sharing my fashion and daily life on YouTube and Instagram, and although my followers are slowly increasing, I have often thought about quitting in the middle, feeling discouraged by the lack of growth. Overcoming these challenges requires a strong mental attitude. However, thankfully, if even one person supports me, it gives me the courage and motivation to continue.
Recently, I have been preparing to start a small business in the United States, setting up a Korean-style dessert cafe. I cannot disclose detailed information as it is a business secret, but I am thinking of designing interior and menu differently from other cafes. I believe that my experience as a digital creator so far will greatly help my business. If I manage to open the dessert cafe within a few years, it would be interesting to do another interview at that time.;)

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
When I came here as a tourist before living in Los Angeles, the best place to visit was Sunset I saw at the Getty Center.
I’m not impressed because I’ve gone too far now lol, but if I become a resident of this place and take my friend, I want to take her to a place that real Americans would go to, not a common tourist destination with too many tourists like Santa Monica. Hollywood. In that sense, Orange County seems to be a new place. In fact, it’s not a place I often go to, but it’s a new place, and there are many places that my friends from Korea have never heard of. My favorite place is Huntington Beach, I think it would be fun to tan, eat delicious brunch, shop, and spend the day like a local American.
If you drive a little from Los Angeles, it’s full of wonderful nature and attractions. it’s hard to pick something special. I think it’s best to show this big and magnificent nature to my friends from Korea.

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
I want to express my gratitude to all the people I have met throughout my life. I don’t have someone in particular that comes to mind, perhaps because I am inspired and influenced by everything. I always try to learn something from the people I meet, believing that even casual encounters can be a stepping stone for my growth. I have always loved reading books, meeting new people, and traveling, which has allowed me to grow into someone with many dreams and diverse thoughts. Although I came to the US with the American dream, living here for two and a half years has changed my dreams significantly. Therefore, I cannot attribute my inspiration to any specific individual, as I am influenced greatly by the people I meet:)
However, I am most grateful to my family and friends in Korea, who always support and encourage me in everything I do, and without whose support, l would not be able to achieve my American dream.
