We had the good fortune of connecting with Cheyenne Myles and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Cheyenne, do you have a budget? how do you think about personal finances?
Absolutely. This is paramount. I could not survive without having a mechanism in place. I approach my personal finances the same way I approach my business finances. I create categories and assign a budget to each category. From there I assign expenses to each category. If a new expense is introduced, I do a thorough cost-benefit analysis to understand how this monthly spend will add value to my life or to my business. The idea is that every dollar out should carry a certain level of return. Either I’m paying for a product that makes my life easier, a service that saves me time, or I’m spending money to create an experience that I may not get again. This strategy gives me a high-level view of where the majority of my resources are being utilized and helps me to prioritize things as they come up. The system also involves open and honest communication. Oftentimes people will try to spend your money for you, meaning that they won’t ask if you are able to attend or support but instead expect you to attend/support when based on what your goals are, you may not be able to participate. I’ve found that being open with friends and family about how you’ve already allocated your resources teaches people not to spring things on you last minute.
Can you give our readers an introduction to your business? Maybe you can share a bit about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
I think that what sets me apart from others is that I don’t try to be like or liked by anybody else. It almost never occurs to me what others are doing or what others are thinking about me haha. I live in my head. I stay in the zone. I also believe in never letting anything get in the way of forward progress. I teach my daughter how to problem-solve daily. I’m most proud of being able to persevere through times when I had little-to-no resources to get anything done. I’ve honestly never felt defeated. I get overwhelmed, and I get tired or frustrated. However, I’m highly creative & know that my faith is the most powerful tool I could ever use when I’m weary. God is omnipotent, faithful & all-knowing. I’m excited about making positive changes in other people’s lives through the delivery of Real Estate services.
As far as how I got to where I am today, I continue to study and implement my learnings into my business processes. I don’t really like using the word ‘easy.’ It almost never fits well into any conversation. I honestly don’t understand why folks expect work to be easy. The point is to be challenged daily. Our brains want to be fed with new ideas. For me, overcoming challenges involves a willingness to collaborate & compromise between two or more parties. I’ve picked up so many gems along the way but there are two that stand out above everything else; You are what you repeatedly do and Talk is cheap. I want the world to know that all roads lead to Real Estate & The Home Girl brand is a brand that they can trust to present some of the best wealth-building opportunities and strategies ultimately strengthening their buyng power.
Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
There are too many to name but I’ll give this a shot. First, I am the product of a Bible-toting mother who did everything in her power to make sure that I not only knew Christ but who helped to shape my beliefs about the Power of our Lord & Savior. Eternally grateful for my Christian upbringing. My family served as my support system throughout the early days of my career. My Grandmother Gracie and her brother my Great Uncle provided for me in ways I didn’t understand until well into my 20s. I would be remiss not to shoutout my daughter Gavienne. I’ve been in awe of her since she was born. Bearing witness to her development is the most exhilarating experience. As she grows, I’m reminded that I too am in a cycle of growth. Once I reached entry-level management, it was the members of my team who looked up to me for guidance that gave me the confidence to continue to chart my own path as a Technology leader. I’ve had some great examples of women who could lead with integrity & drive operational efficiencies. Women like Alice Barricello, Carolyn Davis & Ella Irwin showed me that there was a place for me to have an impact in Corporate America. In 2018, I went through one of the toughest times in my personal and professional life. During my 1 hour commute to work each day where I was providing Compliance support for a Cryptocurrency startup, I listened to Becoming by Michelle Obama. When she talks about the lunchtime rush that all working moms are familiar with as well as how she sheds light on how she had to make a home for her and her children when Barack was away, really hit home for me. I started to see myself in a way I hadn’t before. The next thing was to start working towards ‘Becoming’ the woman I envisioned in my mind. That book deserves credit for fueling the drive I have to create something of value for the greater society.
