We had the good fortune of connecting with Chloe Moser and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Chloe, do you have some perspective or insight you can share with us on the question of when someone should give up versus when they should keep going?
I have been making music for as long as I can remember and it has always stemmed from wanting/needing to express myself. As I got older and started to share my music more, people really started to latch onto things that I never really considered. I will get messages from random people all over the world telling me how they loved a certain lyric I wrote, or they loved how I changed up a cover and made it my own. I will spend hours on a video for youtube that will only get 276 views and that definitely makes me feel like I shouldn’t be putting so much effort, or even doing anything at all. But, knowing that I can connect to someone that needs to feel less alone, or needs to feel something familiar, really resonates with me. Music has helped me feel so much less alone in my life and the fact that I can make someone feel thankful like that makes me never, ever want to give up. Making the music makes me feel less alone too! It can be very therapeutic. If I ever gave up, I think I would lose a very important part of my heart and brain. I would probably need to start going to therapy like every creative should! If you feel like something is so important to you and it fulfills you in ways you can’t imagine life without, you should never give it up. Music has been my life ever since before I came out of the womb and I think I would just explode without it.

Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
I think something I could say I’m proud of about myself is that I am not afraid to speak my mind when it comes to writing. I think it is important to let loose and be real, because I think it is really relieving to hear humans sing or talk about just, being. Rather than sugarcoating things, why not just say it how it is and let yourself feel? I am not a very popular artist but I hope someday I can reach more people to get that message across. That’s not to say I’m not proud of where I am because I totally am! I absolutely love the audience I have right now. I wouldn’t say it was difficult to get to where I am right now because all that I’ve ever done my whole music career is just, upload. The algorithms of Youtube and Tik Tok have been kind to me in the past year so I have been able to accumulate a very fun and sweet audience. A lesson I’ve learned quite recently is that videos that are more with the times and are more relevant with what is trending, DEFINITELY get more views and engagement. If I want a video of mine to get more attention, I need to really doctor it up for the algorithm to pick it up. One thing I want the world to know about my brand is that I don’t claim to be the wizard of knowing what’s best for yourself or self care even though that is what I really try to be best at. I still struggle with doing what’s best for myself and doing the right thing in general, but the point is, it’s important to care! And it’s important to talk about it.

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
My best friend and I live about 45 minutes away from each other since I recently moved, so when we do see each other it’s fun to plan a whole day! We don’t always stick with our plans, but we always have a good time. Those plans can consist of buying a kite and going to the beach, driving around for a good while and eventually getting smoothies, going back home to take a long nap and waking up to some long conversations about nothing. I am the type of person who can stay inside all day and still have the best day ever, so I could go to the beach and have a fun time or just watch Hannah Montana all day and have just as much fun!

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
Music runs in my family, so I always grew up around it. My mom was always in bands growing up, and she still is! She is currently in a Pat Benatar tribute called “The Pat Benatar Experience” and she and her bandmates are fantastic! It’s definitely a show to see. She has written such beautiful songs and has inspired me so much to grow to be my own person and find out what I love and enjoy. My dad also raised me on great music that shaped my style. He isn’t a musician, but watching him appreciate music the way he does always made me appreciate music in different ways.
