We had the good fortune of connecting with Chloe Wang and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Chloe, we’d love to hear more about how you thought about starting your own business?
Ever since I was a little girl, I have always loved crafting. My journey into Happihome truly began during COVID when I moved into a new place and decided to learn how to make my own home decor. That small decision sparked a growing obsession with concrete art and macrame. Weekend after weekend, you could find me at local outdoor markets selling my creations. After finishing my corporate job each day, I would head straight into the garage and spend hours experimenting, crafting, and tinkering with new ideas, often working late into the night. It became my escape, a quiet hope that maybe I could do more than bounce from one job to another that drained me. Maybe I could create something meaningful for others and build something of my own.

Discovering resin changed everything. Once I began incorporating it into my concrete pieces, I realized how much stronger and more durable my work became. Then one day, I had the idea to add real flowers into my pieces. That simple spark sent me wandering through parks and my neighborhood, foraging for blooms and learning how to dry them. Before I knew it, my flower trinket trays and vases were flying off my table faster than I could make them. People began asking if I preserved wedding flowers, and those conversations were what shifted the entire direction of my business.

That is when I realized what Happihome had been missing: meaning and purpose. Preserving wedding bouquets, engagement flowers, and memorial blooms was not just beautiful—it mattered. It carried weight, emotion, memory, and love. That realization set me on a whole new path.

Today, working closely with my brides, I pour my heart into creating pieces that reflect the essence of their special day, turning their flowers into memories frozen in time. My mission is simple: to help you preserve the natural beauty of your most cherished flowers in a way that allows you to hold onto those precious moments for a lifetime.

Happihome started as a little creative project that grew into something so much more meaningful than I ever imagined. I’ve always loved creating and preserving wedding bouquets felt like such a beautiful way to capture a moment in time. Now I get to help people hold onto one of the happiest days of their lives and that still feels really special to me.

What sets my work apart is that I’m completely self taught. Every technique I use, every little detail in my pieces, is something I developed through a lot of trial and error over the years. My style has really become my own, and I take a lot of pride in that.

Running a small business definitely hasn’t been easy, it’s been a lot of learning on the go, late nights, and figuring things out as I went. But I’ve stayed dedicated because I care so deeply about what I do. I want every client to feel like their keepsake was made with genuine love and intention.

One of the biggest lessons I’ve learned is that passion and care always show through in your work. When you put your heart into something, people can feel it.

At the end of the day, I just want people to know that Happihome is built on meaning, it’s not just about preserving flowers, but about preserving memories, emotions, and stories that deserve to be remembered.

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
There are so many fun things to do in Orange County! I’d start by showing my best friend some of the most gorgeous beaches Newport and Laguna Beach are my favorites for ocean views and relaxing coastal vibes. We’d spend the day exploring tide pools, grabbing coffee by the water, and watching the sunset.

During the week, we’d mix in a little nature and good food (the best combo!). Irvine has beautiful parks and trails we’d go biking along the Jeffrey Trail or visit the Great Park to ride the iconic hot air balloon and see the palm-lined views from above.

For food, there’s no shortage of amazing Asian spots in OC. I’d take them to Mokkoji Shabu Shabu for comforting hotpot, Hako for crispy katsu, and Sup Noodle Bar for a bowl of pho that hits the spot every time. For dessert, we’d go to Wanderlust Creamery for creative ice cream flavors, Baekjeong for a fun Korean BBQ dinner, and Bag of Cakes for artisanal Korean pastries to snack on later.

OC really has the best mix of food, nature, and sunshine, perfect for a week of exploring, eating, and soaking in all the good vibes. 🌴✨

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
I know I would not be here without my fiancé, Jack. In the early days, when I first told him I wanted to make decor for our home, he encouraged me without hesitation. He even took me to craft stores to help me gather every material I needed. When I said I wanted to try selling my creations at outdoor markets, he was right there with me. He drove me to every event, helped set up my booth, grabbed me food, talked to customers, and supported me in every possible way.

His unwavering support gave me the courage to keep creating and innovating, even when I was barely making any profit. He never once told me I was wasting my time on my “little crafts.” Instead, he reminded me again and again to keep going, keep improving, and believe in myself. What I am really trying to say is that he was the first person who saw something in me that I did not yet see in myself — my drive, my determination, my passion. He nurtured all of it and made me believe that I had what it takes to build my own business and be my own boss. Happihome would not be what it is today without him, and for that I am so deeply grateful. It truly changed the entire course of my life.

My family and friends—those who showed up to my events, both the busy ones and, even more importantly, the slow ones—thank you. Thank you for checking in on my small business, spreads the word, purchasing something I have created, or supporting me by liking and sharing my content, I see you. I have never forgotten the love and support you all have shown me. You have all played such a huge part in encouraging me to live a life that feels true to my most genuine self.
