We had the good fortune of connecting with Chris Cream and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Chris, have you ever found yourself in a spot where you had to decide whether to give up or keep going? How did you make the choice?
Consistency is the Hallmark of success. Set the course and expect hurdles, but giving up on what is meant for you is a weak way out. BITE DOWN…keep going. You didn’t come this far to stop now.

Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
Entertaining has always been a part of me. Since childhood. As a former traveling Performance Spokenword Poet. Acting held a place for me and I became comfortable learning more. My resources and know how aligned with a film company that could use a Casting Agent. And from there we emerged ourselves in teamwork

Creatives don’t wear just one hat. On the surface, I guess you could call me a poet writer, An actor, screen play writer, casting agent, music producer, Film producer, Director, Set designer, acting coach. Mentor And Carpenter by trade.

Yeah… I it’s a long story. One craft lead me to the next and my interest and appreciation for each art form or job usually is how i learned more and more. I am a sponge when intrigued.

Teaching / casting became a thing because industry was lacking in our area. The talent was here but the industry was missing. We brought industry home. And that feels great knowing we are pioneers to a viable independent film industry building in our area putting people in places they only dreamed previously.

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.

Cool thing about this part of South Jersey it’s close enough to everything cool in the northeast. So we would definitely do NYC for a day of shopping / food and fun! There is a great soul food spot in Harlem I want to get back to! The red rooster. Maybe catch some music at S.O.B.’S.

Depending on Boxing or film schedules all things will stop for them. They maybe on set or watching boxing with me!

But definitely a day in Philly to grab some culture and a Cheese Steak! Fried onions ketchup and Mayo on mine please! Penns landing and South Street tours sound great!

Then get some great pics at the Camden waterfront next to my Grandfather’s statue to make to trip complete.

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
My grandfather the late jersey joe Walcott, Former heavyweight champion of the world in boxing meant a lot to many. He Is the blueprint for longevity & dedication To your goals and dreams. All while being the best grandfather in the world, To this day he still inspires me and teaches me how to be in the world in my career and with my own grandchildren. My adult children Amber and Jordan, Live Your Dream!
