We had the good fortune of connecting with Chris Frara and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Chris, what was your thought process behind starting your own business?
Becoming a photographer has been my chosen path because I believe in the profound impact visuals can have on helping brands thrive. It’s not just about capturing images; it’s about crafting a visual language that speaks to the essence of each brand, fostering a meaningful connection with the audience. I am driven by the desire to be more than just a photographer; I aspire to be a brand storyteller, collaborating with businesses to amplify their identity and facilitate growth in the dynamic world of visual communication. Every photograph is a deliberate step in contributing to the success and expansion of the brands I am privileged to work with. My journey behind the lens is a commitment to elevating brands and creating a lasting impression that extends beyond the pixels. Join me on this transformative adventure, where the art of photography becomes a catalyst for brand evolution.

Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
I picked up the camera one day as I worked in fashion as a photographer and did not show up for the shoot! so I Jumped on YouTube Collage figured out how to work studio lighting and set up everything and that was when I was off to my new career I fell in love with it on the spot and have been shooting ever since.

Photographer career has been fun and exciting…….creating art is always fun and when a client gives you creative freedom that is best……. but the mind games of just creating versus what is going to book as paying jobs takes it toll , and where are you going put your energy as at the end of the day bills need to be paid hahaha

so there is a delicate dance between feeding your creativity as well as creating content that clients and brands want to see that will book you jobs.

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
well this seems to happen to me regularly! I was born and raised in South Africa so I have many friends from SA that end u traveling out here! so my itinerary is kinda of already booked by all the sites of LA that they want to see! tour guide Chris

If I had it my way prob take them to Big Sur and do that magical drive along with the sequoias and do a little glamping and throw in Lake Tahoe but everyone wants to to eh Hollywood sign Disneyland and rodeo drive.

I do love the retardant scene in LA and some of the food ia amazing so I would def pick put the top 5 eatery and have night on the town.

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
There are so many amazing photographers that I look up to and aspire to be! and to be honest wouldn’t even know half of them if it wasn’t for social media! so I would have to say the internet / social has been a huge inspiration for me to draw from and see how photographers work and the different techniques they use this wasn’t available to us a couple years back so it has helped me grow as a photographer.
