We had the good fortune of connecting with Chris Jackson and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Chris, what led you to pursuing a creative path professionally?
Since I was a child I always found myself doing things that allowed me to express myself. Whether it was drawing, building magical forts with my siblings or eventually picking up a guitar and playing, I was always finding ways to allow my stream of consciousness to come out in whatever form I could. As I got older, I realized I could utilize the same creative thinking and expressiveness in my career!

Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
Music is my passion because there’s so much freedom and expression in the rhythm and sounds we can create. I’ve been in many different bands throughout the years. Although short lived, I did play a very large festival with many well known artists and had the time of my life. That was the pinnacle of my musical career. I still love playing with my current band as well as friends and musicians at random jam sessions. I run JacksonMusicArt Studios and I love writing, recording, mixing, and producing music of all kinds. I want everyone to have the ability to take an idea and turn it into a something they can easily share with the world. Everyone has their own unique voice and they deserve to be heard!

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
It would most likely be baseball season so a trip to the ballpark would be a must. There are some amazing barbecue restaurants in the metroplex and I would make sure to make a stop at Hurtados! Not sure what venue but we would see multiple concerts. Likely local artists at a cool dive bar like the Double wide. I would have to save room for a night at the house to cook and hang out and play darts and sit by the pool. Those are the times I cherish.

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
My story wouldn’t be complete without recognizing my mother and father and their oddly effective method for raising children! “Whatever you do in life, we will always love and support you!” This was a common saying, however, there were still boundaries in place and we knew exactly where the lines were. My brother and sister were always supportive and remain stalwarts of sibling companionship! My wife is my everything. I can’t write enough words to express what she means to me. She is the joy of my life!
