We had the good fortune of connecting with Chrissy Goobache and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Chrissy, what’s one piece of conventional advice that you disagree with?
The conventional advice that I would wholeheartedly disagree with is that, “the early bird gets the worm”. I believe that timing is everything and what’s meant for you was handcrafted for you. It doesn’t matter how early or fast you work towards something, if it’s not ready or if something greater is out there for you you’ll have to wait. The bible says, “the first shall be last and the last shall be first”. So this statement proves that time is just an illusion, and what’s meant for you will be for you despite the circumstance.

Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
Entrepreneurship is something that is already embedded in your DNA. My great-grandfather was an entrepreneur. He taught my mother and my mother taught me. Entrepreneurship is not easy, but it’s very rewarding. Some people assume that it’s easy because they see the finished product, but they don’t witness all of the sweat equity that goes into running your own business. You work from sun up to sun down. Somedays you miss meals, but that’s why when you finally reach your turning point as an entrepreneur, its an indescribable gratification.

Cruzn Cozy Records is an independent record label founded by me and my mother. It sprouted from a clothing brand that I created 6 years ago titled Cruzn Cozy. Ultimately, the idea was to create another company that utilized all of our talents and skills combined. Fashion, music, art, entrepreneurship, management, styling; etc.

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
I actually just had a friend visit me recently and I crammed like 20 things into two days. We went hiking to the Hollywood Sign, the Observatory, Hollywood Blvd to see the walk of fame, Rodeo drive, El Coyote restaurant in Beverly Hills, and Venice Beach. When he comes back I want us to go skating and shopping at the Beverly Center.

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
My Lord and Savior Jesus. The favor that he has placed over my life is unmatched. For every bad thing that I have endured, he has blessed me 10 fold. Next, I want to shoutout my business partner and mother Tamia Wells. She is a major player in my life story and its because of her constant optimism and support why I have never been afraid to do anything. I feel like everybody in this life should experience that kind of love, if they did, maybe more people would be less miserable and more pleasant. Its so many people I would like to shoutout but Im also going to say my brother (Joshua). He is my engineer and even when Im being complicated, he overlooks my difficulties. I want to shoutout my ASCAP representative Malaika and everyone else that supports me and believes in the vision. Thank you.
